Hello fellow members,
I'm so glad to have found this group for our little area in Nueva Galicia
and have enjoyed my genealogy research for some time. However, I've done
my best to trace back my family line on my own but have hit a discouraging
road block. It's time to reach out for help and hopefully other's have
followed this same family line. The references below are all from El
Sagrario, Aguascalientes.
I've researched my father's line (grandfather is GARCIA and grandmother
GONZALEZ). However, the furthest I've reached for certain is Fernando
Fermin Garzia (born El Sagrario, Aguas, 8/25/1754 and Christened 9/15/1754,
married to MARIA ANTONIA ABAD ALONZO VERNALES DE LOS YNOJOS on 3/26/1794).
However DE LOS YNOJOS confuses me because I believe (not sure) that
FERNANDO FERMIN's father was JOSEPH MANUEL GARZIA who married MARIA
ANTONIETA ALONSO DE LOS YNOJOS, on 4/16/1752. Did Fermin marry a
half-sister?
Going further back, (the rest of this line back i'm not confident) JOSEPH
MANUEL GARZIA father was CARLOS GARCIA (baptized 12/1/1705) married JUAN
ARIAS (baptized 5/3/1711) on 2/5/1729. If this information is correct, the
last (stumbling block) information I have is that CARLOS's birth parents
were JOSEPH GARCIA and JOSEPHA FERNANDEZ (Ortis?). I have no information
about dates or where Joseph and Josepha were born/married. This has been
my dead end for MONTHS!
Any assistance or guidance (or education) would GREATLY be appreciated.
I've seen success other's have had here, but have always been reluctant.
But I have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.
Thanks again and sorry for the convoluted story!

Jorge,
I forgot to mention that Maria de Guadalupe Bernales is listed as hija legitima de Luis Bernal and Maria de San Juan de Santos. On the Marriage record of Luis Bernal and Maria de San Juan de Santos in Aguas Calientes on 4 Feb 1731, Luis Bernal is listed as hijo legitimo de Juan de Dios Bernal y de Yldephonsa Delgado. On some records Juan de Dios Bernal is listed as Juan de Dios Bernal Marmolexo, so Marmolexo may be his mothers name, but, I don't have that record. Yldephonsa Delgado died on 16 Mar 1748 and it lists her as viuda de Juan de Dios Bernal and hija legitima de Luis Delgado y de Theresa López de Elizalde. Luis Delgado is the son of Joseph Delgado and Francisca Gabai. On the marriage record of Francisca Gabai she is listed as hija legitima de Luis Tiscareño de Molina y de Lorenza Ruiz de Esparza. It lists Joseph Delgado's father as Diego Delgado and his mother as Juana Diaz? maybe. It's kind of hard to read. Theresa Lopez de Elizalde was
married to Luis Delgado on 4 March 1669. She is the legitimate daughter of Nicolás López de Elizalde and Regina de Alvarado. I'm not sure who their parents are.

The marriage document of Fernando Fermín García y Alonso de los Hinojos and
María Antonia Abad Alonso de los Hinojos y Vernales states that they had a
dispensa de los tres parentescos de consanguinidad en cuarto grado puro.
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18564-58801-15?cc=1874591&wc…
A dispensa or dispensation is a waiver by the bishop of Guadalajara to
allow them to marry even though they were 3rd cousins through three
different lines. People related in the fourth degree (cuarto grado) are 3rd
cousins.
Siblings (share parents) is the 1st degree
Cousins (share grandparents) is the 2nd degree
2nd cousins (share ggrandparents) is the 3rd degree
3rd cousins (share gggrandparents) is the 4th degree
I searched www.guadalajaradispensas.com for all Hinojos and this dispensa
was indexed by Katy Brecht at
http://www.guadalajaradispensas.com/2012/08/1794-fhl-source-film-168088…
That shows it is on image 167 and that there is an explanation of their
genealogy on image 168.

The first tree has an error. It states that Pedro Alonso married Isabel
Ramirez. It was Juan Alonso that married Isabel Ramirez 22 May 1652 in
Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco.

Juan Alonso and Isabel Ramirez had Pedro and Juan. Pedro married Gertrudis
de Chávez and they had Antonio Alonzo. Juan married Veronica López and they
had Manuel Alonso. This takes it to the 2nd degree.
Antonio Alonso married Dolores López and they had Joseph Alonso. Manuel
Alonso married María Bautista Martín [de Sotomayor] and they had María
Alonzo. 3rd degree.
Joseph Alonzo married María Guadalupe Bernales and they had María Antonia
Alonzo la pretenza. María Alonzo married Joseph García and they had
Fernando Garcia. 4th degree.
You'll have to do the second tree on your own I am going to jump to the
third tree.
Diego de Chávez Fragoso and Antonia de Villalobos y Vásquez de Retamosa
were married 22 Feb 1664 in Aguascalientes. See my posts in the Apolonia de
Mendoza at http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/es/node/21539 to see more info
about Antonia de Villalobos.

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-12446-30300-45?cc=1410092&…
They had Gertrudis and Lucía (Luisa) de Chávez. 1st degree
Gertrudis married Pedro Alonso and had Antonio Alonso. Luisa de Chávez
married Andrés Martín [de Sotomayor] [8 Oct 1680 in Aguas] and had María
Bauptista Martín. 2nd degree.
You already have the info for the 3rd degree and 4th degree.

Jorge and Chris,
From George Fulton's index of Aguascalientes Informacion Matrimoniales, we know that the parents of Juan de Dios Bernal were Pedro Bernal and Francisca de Marmolejo. The record can be found at: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-267-11671-60802-23?cc=1410092&…
Many thanks George for this invaluable resource! Your hard work in creating these indexes and generosity in sharing them is greatly appreciated! (http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/node/18014)

GARCIA line in El Sagrario, Aguascalientes
Hi Jorge,
Those are my 7th great grandparents, but, I'm afraid my response is going to be equally convoluted and probably not that much help, since I dead end on Joseph Garcia and Josepha Fernandez also, although they'd probably have been born towards the end of the 17th century. This was one of my very first lines when I started last year and I was just saving records to my computer and not notating the image numbers and such. But, on the marriage record of Fernando Fermin Garcia on 3/26/1794 in Aguas Calientes, it lists him as Don Fernando Garcia, Esp. hijo de Jose Garcia y de Maria Alonso de los Ynojos, viudo de Doña Trinidad de Alba. As far as don Fernando and his father being married to half sisters, they weren't, but, I'm sure they're related somehow. Don Fernando Garcia's wife is listed as Doña Antonia Alonso de los Ynojos, Española, hija de Don Jose Alonso de los Ynojos and Doña Maria Guadalupe Bernales. Fernando's parents were married 16 April
1752 in Aguas Calientes. On the record they're listed as Jph. Manuel Garzia, Español, hijo legitimo de Carlos Garzia y de Juana Arias. Don Fernando's mother is listed as Ma Antonia Alonso de los Ynojos, Española, hija legitima de Manuel Alonso de los Ynojos y de Maria Martines de Soto Mayor. As I was looking for them on my tree after I saw your email I realized I have on another part of my tree a Manuel Alonso married to a Juana Baptista Martin de Sotomayor and I'm now wondering whether they're the same as Manuel Alonso de los Ynojos y de Maria Martines de Soto Mayor. I'll have to check further. I have them documented much farther back.
Juana Arias parents are Esteban Arias and Magdalena de los Santos. Magdalena de los Santos parents are Nicolas de los Santos and Magdalena de Chabes. Magdalena Chabes's death certificate lists her as Magdalena de Chabes, Española, viuda de Nicolas de Santos and hija legitima de Antonio de Chabes and Angelina Gomes.
I have more records on this line, but everything is not in it's proper place. I'll see what else I have.
