Greetings to all,
Has anyone any experience with My Heritage?
I'd like to know if a membership is a worthwhile
thing to do towards furthering research in Mexico
and Spain.
Thanks so much,
Alice BB
Hello,
I have my heritage and ancestry. Honestly, I use family search most. While my heritage seems to aggregate lots of info from many sources, the search function is really bad, yielding irrelevant info. It’s like searching for a needle in a haystack. I find it frustrating. The MH tree builder is nice though.
Ancestry helps sometimes through the hint feature but usually it’s docs i´ve seen. It’s helpful to surface docs on lines you are not actively working on. The search function also not the best so the hints can sometimes be totally off.
All in all, family search is really the only one I couldn’t do without.

Hi There,I agree. I've always used family search, but just wondered if my heritage had something to offer--worth paying for. I was kind of interested because theysay they offer Smart Matches that find connections between your and other users family trees,Consistency checker that scans family tree and finds inconsistencies and mistakes in your data. I'm always looking for help with brick walls or just plain serendipity! Thanks so much for your response on your experience.Alice BB

When I need to search for something on Ancestry.com I just go to my local public library and use their institutional account. It has a feature that allows one to send any record to one's email for later access.
I'm not sure it would be worthwhile. I have ancestry.com and it's helped me a little but most of it I could've just done with familysearch. I would say probably not worthwhile.
Hello,
I was aware of the Ancestry situation, but I was hoping that since FamilytreeDNA
partners with My Heritage, it might be different. I guess I'm always hoping of
finding help to break through the brick walls.
Thanks so much.
