Just wondering if anyone has seen something like this. For the marriage of Diego Ximenez and Apolonia Diaz de Leon (Ruis de Esparza), there is a marriage recorded in Asientos (Nuestra Señora de Belen) on 23 enero 1710 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-67YS-D95?i=23&wc=M6QX-…). The entry starts at the end of page 23 and continues on page 24. But there is an entry in Informacion Matrimonial in the city of Aguascalientes dated 8 febrero 1710 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-DCF9-WL6?i=226&wc=M6QX…) for the same couple. I cannot find a marriage record in February or March in El Sagrario records. A curiosity.
It's possible that they married in Asientos and you can see the bride was originally from Aguascalientes. Perhaps this was a way of keeping track of who was married (so, the priest in Aguascalientes was informed of the intended marriage, and recorded the info matrimonial so they knew she had married). This was no avoid allowing any impediments to the marriage to stand.
Thank you for sharing this…
