A principios de este año envie mi saliva para que me realizaran pruebas de ADN Y-DNA37+mtDNAPlus con family tree, hace 2 semana recibi que por mi linea materna pertenezco al haplogrupo "A" que cruzo por el estrecho de Bering hace varios miles de años, esto por un lado me sorprendio ya que mi familia es muy blanca y por otro lado me dio un orgullo grande ser decendiente de indigenas por el lado materno y me motivo a iniciar algunas investigaciones por este lado ya que el ADN mitocondrial se trasmite de madre a hijos pero solo es trasmitido por las mujeres. Yo actualmente vivo en Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico y descubri hasta este momento que mi tatarabuela nacio tambien en Zapopan el 24 de abril de 1879 (mi madre, abuela y bisabuela nacieron en San Cristobal de la Barranca, Jalisco)y se llamaba Crecencia Vazquez Suarez su madre se llamaba Josefa Suarez y su padre Lazaro Vazquez, ahi me quede por falta de informacion con la base de datos de Family Search.
Tambien lei que Zapopan fue fundada por Francisco de Bobadilla encomendero de Tlaltenango, Zacatecas el 8 de diciembre de 1541 con 130 indigenas de Jalostotitlan de los cuales solo llegaron 103 vivos, esta fundacion del poblado de Zapopan y de Zoquipan se dio para fortalecer la region y favorecer la fundacion de la actual Guadalajara el 14 de febrero de 1542.
Creo que esto muchos ya lo sabian, pero haciendo deducciones los indios de Jalostotitlan tengo entendido que eran Tecuexes y Cazcanes, por lo que probablemente su haplogrupo sea el mismo que yo tengo.
Mis preguntas son,
Hay indicios o estudios que los indios Chichimecas fueran de algun haplogrupo en particular?
Los Tecuexes y Cazcanes son de la misma familia?
Alguien sabe mas del tema?

It is very generous of you to offer to keep track of the mtDNA of the members of Nuestros Ranchos. The fact that you are bi-lingual will make it useful to all the members. It will get to be an increasingly bigger and more interesting job as more people send you their results. Then, of course, there is also Y-DNA to track.
On the other hand, we could set up a Nuestros Ranchos Dual Geographical Project at FamilyTreeDNA. It can be restricted to members of Nuestros Ranchos. It will automatically list all the results of those members who've tested their Y-DNA and/or mtDNA. It will also provide a discount to Nuestros Ranchos members who would like to test their DNA. People who have tested with FamilyTreeDNA are familiar with joining a surname or geographical project and could quickly add the Nuestros Ranchos project.
Administering the project is very simple. The administrator's job would be to approve new member applications by cross checking with our membership list. Other than the set-up, not much else needs to be done.
I would suggest that the project be in both Spanish and English. Therefore, the administrator, or a co-administrator should be bi-lingual.
If one of the administrators of Nuestros Ranchos approves of this idea, they can contact either FamilyTreeDNA or me for details.
Personally, I think it is a great idea.

I am trying to update it everytime I look for a record so little by little I hope to complete it. If anyone wants to help update it they can respond to this message and I can give editing rights.
The worksheets will be per church. The columns per book. The first row will identify the book. The second row the corresponding microfilm. The subsequent rows will be for the corresponding image number. Example row 50 is for image 50. The corresponding cell will have the first date found on the page.

Las columnas van por libro. El primer renglón identifica el libro y el segundo el numero del microfilm, si lo pude identificar. Hay unos que todavía no se en cual microfilm se encuentran. Los siguientes renglones corresponden al numero de imagen del libro y en la celda correspondiente contiene la primera fecha encontrado en esa imagen. Poco a poco lo voy llenando.
Si hay alguien que esta dispuesto de ayudar llenar datos faltantes me pueden responder al mensaje y se los podría dar permiso.

Estimado don José Carlos:
Aquí le porporciono algunos datos según mis estudios y algunos de Javier Sanchiz que obtuve de su sitio en Geneanet. Lo considero un genealogista excepcional.
Efectivamente la mujer de Marcos Rubio Rosso era María Guadalupe Ambrosia Delgado de Sosa hija de Francisco Delgado y María de las Nieves Sosa. No sé el lugar o origen de éstos. Francisco y Nieves dejaron bastante descendencia en la ciudad de México y víncularon con familias de élite novohispano como los González-Calderón, Rincón-Gallardo y García de Rojas.
Como mencionó Marcos Rubio Rosso debería nacer hacia 1763 en Jalapa, Veracruz y falleció en Veracruz el 20 de agosto de 1822 hijo del italiano Mateo Joseph Rubio Rosso nacido hacia 1716 en Osiglia en el marquesado del Final en los Reinos de Italia y su mujer Luisa Josefa Ortiz de Zárate nacida en Tlacolula hija de Santiago Ortiz de Zárate y Jacinta Delgado de Acosta, estos últimos datos de ascendencia obtuve de don Javier Sanchiz.
Efectivamente el Sr. don Brigader José María Guadalupe Luis Gonzaga Rincón Gallardo y Santos del Valle, II marqués de Guadalupe-Gallardo fue bautizado en el Sagrario Metropolitano (Parroquia de la Asunción) de la ciudad de México el 25 de junio de 1793 y fallecido en junio de 1877 en dicha ciudad. En los archivos de mi familia se encuentra varios retrartos y copias del Marqués y otras cosas de interés a cuanto el Marquesado de Guadalupe-Gallardo y la familia Rincón-Gallardo. Te los proporciono si gusta. Dejó bastante descendencia en la ciudad de México. Entre otros tuvo su antepasado el A.M. General don Rodrigo Marcos Pedro Regalado Rincón-Gallardo bautizado en dicha parroquia de la Asunción el 15 de marzo de 1842 y nacido en dicha ciudad el 13 de marzo de 1842. Falleció en 1909 en dicha ciudad.
A cuanto la familia Doblado sólo he encontrado algunos datos. Doña Virgina Doblado bautizada María Virginia Vicenta Doblado y Gaytán el 27 de marzo de 1849 en Piedra Gorda de Ciudad Manuel Doblado en Guanajuato y fallecida en la ciudad de México el 18 de marzo de 1882. Tuvo por lo menos dos hermanas las que tengo: Ana María de los Dolores Alejandra Marcelina b. 18 de julio de 1855 y María Guadalupe de la Concepción b. 13 de junio de 1842 todas bautizadas en la parroquia de Santa Fe de Guanajuato salvo doña Virginia, la cual fue bautizada en Ciudad Manuel Doblado. Desconozco la ascendencia de éstas más que sus padres ya que no tengo vínculo con esta familia salvo lo de Rincón-Gallardo por mis líneas paterna y materna.
Ojalá encuentra estos datos con interés

México, 22 Mar. (Notimex).- El Senado de la República aprobó expedir la Ley
Federal de Archivos, que dará paso a un marco normativo moderno y permitirá
la conservación y difusión de documentos.
Así, se da plena autonomía de gestión y personalidad jurídica al Archivo
General de la Nación (AGN), que será un organismo descentralizado, rector de
la actividad archivística nacional y entidad central de consulta de los
archivos administrativos e históricos.
El director general del AGN será designado por el presidente de la
República, o a indicación de éste, a través del coordinador de sector, por
el Organo de Gobierno, lo que de manera implícita refleja la importancia del
cargo.
Además, prevé la creación de áreas indispensables para la implementación de
la Ley como la coordinación de archivos, archivos de trámite y de
concentración e históricos.
También el establecimiento del Consejo Nacional de Archivos, el Registro
Nacional de Archivos, el Sistema Nacional de Archivos, archivos
presidenciales y archivos privados de interés público.
Al hablar a favor del dictamen, el senador del Partido Revolucionario
Institucional (PRI), Jesús Murillo Karam, afirmó se trata de un gran avance,
pues se concibe al Archivo Nacional "como algo que tiene que ver con el
Estado y no con cualquier gobierno en turno".
La Ley Federal de Archivos, aprobada unánimemente este martes por el pleno
senatorial, fue turnada a la Cámara de Diputados.

I wanted to share this find regarding a CAPTAIN PEDRO DE ANDA (whom I suspect to be the son of Pedro de Anda & Isabel Gutiérrez de Altamirano) and a lawsuit that was brought up by his illegitimate daughters that he had with a native Indian woman and also an African slave woman: Biblioteca Publica del Estado de Jalisco; Bienes de Difuntos; 17th century; leg. 1, exp. 16, folio 49r.
A short explanation can be found in the book called "Sexuality & Marriage in Colonial Latin America" edited by Asuncion Lavrin.

The paper asserts that this CAPITAN PEDRO DE ANDA had a half-brother named ESTEVAN DE ANDA, who challenged PEDRO's illegitimate daughters in a lawsuit after PEDRO died: 3 who were born from an Indian woman and one--a MARIA ORTIZ--was born from a love-affair between PEDRO and an African slave-woman.

I recently ordered a microfilm and found my Great Grandparents Marriage Info from 1930, one of the things I learned was that my g-grandmother Leonor Miranda was 17 years old and was originally from Carrizal de Arteaga and the daughter of Dario Miranda and Cenobia X who were living. I was wondering if anyone knows where the Carrizal de Arteaga is located and I was also wondering what could be some reasons her mothers last name was listed as X ?? I have the same markers as above. Unfortunately, they are very common markers in Europe and have not helped me much in my Serros genealogy quest. My extended family is from the Northern Jalisco/Southern Zacatecas area, an area they left in ~1916. Sadly for the purpose of genealogy, the Serros/Cerros line appears to be an illegitimate line so I can only go back so far in this particular line.
I agree that the markers suggest a Basque lineage; I did not say prove a Basque lineage. Clearly, as I search the 1600 and 1700 records of Mezquitic, Jalisco and Valparaiso, Zacatecas, I find surnames that are Basque in origin. My reading sources state that the Basques (and Germans) were brought over for their knowledge in mining. One of the largest silver mines in our area was of course Bolaños. In the mid and late 1700's the mines of this town made many locals and investors very wealthy.

The marriages in Lagos de Moreno from 1845 to 1850 are missing from film 221525. They aren't in 221524 either. Does anyone know if they were passed over or missing?

My name is Jorge Elias and I am searching about the last names Elias, Ruiz de Esparza, Diaz, Flores and Jayme in Guadalupe, Zacatecas. My question is: Are there on line baptism books of Guadalupe, Zacatecas before 1859?
In famlysearch.org I could find just from that year, but nothing before. In the section of Guadalupe there is one book dated 1853-1877, but it is from Trancoso and not from Guadalupe. Somebody knows if I can find books before that date somewhere else in familysearch or other web page? Thank you for your help and patience.

It includes primarily information from Jalpa, Tabasco, and Huanusco. The surnames that I've focused on are: Gonzalez, Medina, Sandoval, Viramontes, Casillas, and Ventura.
I've currently hit a brickwall with respect two several individuals: Jose Maria Gonzalez and his wife Petra Ledesma (both probably born around 1770s); and Jose Maria Gonzalez Ledesma, probably born in the 1790s, and Brigida Gonzalez Ledesma, probably born in the 1800s. Petra's father is said to have been Estevan Ledesma and grandfather is Geronimo Ledesma, and I believe Estevan is originally from Tabasco. Jose Maria Gonzalez, Sr and Petra I believe lived in Jalpa. I haven't found their wedding or birth information.

I located the image of the baptismal record for Leonor Torres Benavides, (8
Dec 1661, Nochistlan, image 210) and I see a cross over her name, and a few
others on the same page. I've not noticed this before. The arms of the
cross are the same length. Does this mean they died at birth?
