I am including this email both to the group and to you. The
nuestrosranchos.org group is absolutely FREE. I have never asked anyone
to submit 14 generations and sometimes I've accepted as few as 1
generation for those that are new to genealogy. I don't know if there
are individuals in the group studying exactly these lines but I'll know
in a few days as the messages circulate among the members. I've not
considered a person for membership based on the trade system you are
proposing. Of course there are individuals in the group that probably
thought the same thoughts you are verbally expressing. If anyone in the
group replies I'll certainly put you in contact with those individuals
if they request to communicate with you, but I'll need to think about
your request for membership as your terms have activated my concern
related to "what is best for the group".
I'll let you know.

Joseph,
I meant to ask you if this is going to come down to making payments for
information. I hope not since I am willing to share my research on the
condition that they lay open theirs for me to see. As I told you
before, I have 14 generations of research on my father's side to share
but on an equal basis. Of most importance is the research on the
Villasenor/Cervantes y Lara ancestral line. If they have nothing on
this then I may have to reconsider because what I will make know has
been researched for many years by the Micheles of Jalisco under the
leadership Padre Salvadore Michel of Guadalajara a descendent of Pedro
Regalado Michel Corona. When you speak to the researchers ask them if
they can assist me with research on Villasenor/Cervantes y Lara
ancestral line which connects with Perez de Alencastre line that
connects with the Micheles of Tonaya and beyond. It is at this juncture
of my research, Villasenor/Cervantes y Lara that I am stymied and would
like to move on if possible. If they can help with this I am willing to
help them as well
Sincerely,
Juan Andres Michel

Juan Andres:
As Joseph points out, you need not supply your entire genealogy in order to join the group. I think it is necessary for you to share part of it, however, in order for others to confirm whether they share the same lineages as you. Of course once you make that connection, you are free to collaborate as much or as little as you want with those individuals.
I have found that group members in general are very generous with their research, particularly with others who share their lineages.
Villasenor/cervantes line
To Juan
l have connected the Cervantes line to my other work on the enriquez de castillo line.
I also found that the two cervantes lines are actually two branches from the same trunk.
I only recently started looking at this branch again.
I descend from Juan de Villasenor Orozco and Catalina Cervantes y Lara Andrada.
Catalina's grandfather, Diego Cervantes, married to Guiomar de Tello is related to the other giant cervantes family. When the two cervantes joined in a marriage there was an acknowledgement of the bride's father that they come from two branches of the same cervantes family.
I would like to hear/see more of your family tree to see how it connects to my tree.

RICCI:
I do have a CERVANTES branch in my tree and I'd like to know where is your Cervantes line from?. My branch is located in Ocotlan-La Barca Jal. area. I'd like to know if it matches with you. My ancestors in this family are:
Eduviges CERVANTES was born 1837 in Sta Clara, Ocotlan, married to Geronimo MACIAS.
Eduviges' C. parents were Miguel Cervantes (b. 4 Oct 1808 La Barca) and Ana Maria ZUÑIGA (b. 1817 Sta Clara, Ocotlan), married on 28 abr 1834 in Ocotlan
Grandparents were: Encarnacion CERVANTES and Maria Nasaria NAVARRO (HAVE NOT further info)
Ricardo Zuñiga and Rosalia Raso (married on 9 Jun 1816 in Ocotlan, Jal).
I´d like to know if you have these people in your database and can help getting more informaction of them.
Best wishes

Due to family health issues I am currently limited in continuing my work in genealogy. I am also a teacher and the beginning and end of the semesters are consumed by paperwork. I do have some information about the cervantes line that I am researching but not at the moment. the library that I use is also closed for at least 6 months due to renovation.
Sorry that I can't help you more at the moment

Villasenor/Cervantes y Lara ancestral line
Joseph,
As you are aware, I became member of nuestrosranchos.org very recently. From
the little that I have seen so far, without doubt that my research has been
very limited. Specifically, I am counting in my family tree 218 individuals
with the Michel surname (me included) and only 5 with the Villaseñor
surname. About 70-80% (fortunately me included) are alive. These individuals
are scattered over 8 generations. Not all individuals for each of the
generations are fully identified yet. My ancestors were born in the state of
Jalisco, mostly Autlan de Navarro.
As you may conclude, without doubt I would be interested in contacting my
most-probably-relative Juan Andres Michel. But also without doubt that my
piece of sharing would not be commensurate with Juan Andres´.
When I was a kid I used to collect cards with Disney characters. After many
months of hard work my collection was almost complete, about 95%. Then I met
a girl who was starting her own collection, and she had the ones I needed
badly. Bottom line, I was able to complete my collection. You will surely
guess the morale of my story...
Saludos ¡¡

Villasenor/Cervantes y Lara ancestral line
I have to smile at the thought of only submitting certain portions of my research in exchange for information from others. I don't know what part of Mexico is being requested for these lines. I do have Villasenor and Lopez de Lara from Zapotlan El Grande and Tamazula Jalisco. Since I've had problems with the gedcom I would suggest you check on Rootsweb.com where I submitted all my research in the hopes of helping others to reconnect with their ancestors. I hope I have something that will contribute to your research also. If not, then hopefully someone else will connect. Good luck in your search.
