My 3rd Great grandfather Juan Joseph Gregorio DeAnda married Maria de Jesús Peres June 3, 1782 in Encarnación de Díaz, Jalisco. On their marriage document (Image 49) it states that Maria de Jesús Peres parents are Jose Casillas and Gertrudis Romo de Vivar. The marriage of Jose Casillas and Gertrudis Romo is dated April 26 1779 in Jalostotitlan Jalisco. (Image 524) I must have the wrong set of parents because the dates don’t make sense. I have not been able to find another set of parents with the same names nor have I found Maria de Jesus Peres baptismal record. I would greatly appreciate any info that would help me resolve this dilemma.

The document states that the parents of Maria de Jesús Pérez were Don
Joseph Pérez and María Josefa Pérez per the 2nd line at the top of image
49. The padrinos were Jose Casillas and Gertrudis Romo.

That document was very difficult to read. I still don't fully understand that first sentence that states that Jose Perez and Josefa Perez are the brides parents. At the bottom it makes sense that the pardinos should be the ones listed but it does say "padres" before their names. Again thank you for taking the time to check this out. Now I am on the right "ramo" de familia.

The handwriting is definitely hard to read but I can read most of it. Where
is says "padr" and has some markings next to it also has a dot for the i of
padrinos. Even though it looks like padres it does say padrinos. The
context of the document also has to be taken into account.

I was able to transcribe most of the document -

En esta Sta Iglesia Parroquial de la Villa de la Encarnación en tres de
Junio de mil setecientos ochenta y dos años para el matrimonio que
pretendieron contraer don Juan Joseph Gregorio de Anda español originario y
vecino de esta feligresía en Sta Gertrudis hijo legitimo de don Joseph de
Anda y de doña María Gertrudis de Cuéllar difuntos con doña María de Jesús
Pérez española originaria del puesto..de Nuestra Señora de San Juan y
residente en la Ciénega de Mora y en la actualidad en esta Villa hija
legitima de don Joseph Pérez y de doña María Josepha Pérez habiendo
procedido las diligencias acostumbradas y por dro......despachador
requisitorio para que se amonestaran en San Juan y habiéndose amonestados
en esta Sta Iglesia Parroquial en tres dias festivos inter missarum
solemnia según los dispuesto por el Sto Concilio de Trento que lo fueron
domingo..diez y nueva de mayo lunes de... veinte de dicho y martes de

Nuestra Señora de San Juan is what is now called San Juan de los Lagos.
Many people confuse the cities of San Juan de los Lagos and Lagos de Moreno
as the same place but they are 48 km apart from each other. San Juan de los
Lagos is where the Virgen de San Juan is and Lagos de Moreno is where the
insurgent Pedro Moreno was from and the city was previously called Santa
Maria de los Lagos or villa de (los) Lagos for short.

There are three baptisms that are within the expected dates in San Juan de
los Lagos that match Joseph Pérez and María Pérez. One of the baptisms has
the parents with the compound surname Pérez Franco. The earliest baptism is
1761. I do not see a marriage for the that couple prior to that year. You
should look at the padrinos and the ranches mentioned in the baptisms and
look through the records of Información Matrimonial of San Juan de los
Lagos prior to 1761. Also look through the dispensas of everyone with the
surname Franco at

the Pérez Franco family members. The Franco surname is uncommon enough to
include all of them. Pérez is so common you would want to concentrate on
the families from La Chona, San Juan, Jalos, and Tepa. The tumblr site has
Tepa as Tecpatitlan (an older spelling) and it has San Juan as Lagos, which
is incorrect. So don't overlook those.

The Pérez Franco compound surname started with the children of Alonso Pérez
Torillo and Luisa Paredes Franco

a possibility that you descend from them and at some point you might be
able to tie your tree to the one above.

I would appreciate the info on Juan Gregorio DeAnda Cuellar. I do have info on him back to Gaspar Macias Valades and Antonia DeAnda Altamirano y Martinez de Alarcón. I would like to compare notes to see if I have the correct information. I have the baptismal info on most of Juan Gregorio DeAnda’s and Jesus Peres children except for my great, great grandfather Rafael Anda Peres. All I have is his marriage record to Maria Encarnación Pedroza (Oct. 9, 1832 Encarnación de Diaz) where it states that his parents are Juan Jose (Gregorio) De Anda and Ma. De Jesus Peres.

I have followed the line of Gaspar Macias Valades back to Blas Macias and Catalina Ramirez (Valadez) married about 1556 in Lagos de Moreno.

I also found Jesus Perez Franco and Josepha Perez Franco and am checking them out. Also Juan Gregorio’s 2nd wife was Ancelma Franco.
Thanks for the info on the dispensas I will be working on getting info from there.

that suggests a direction to investigate.
