How would you translate auto criminales and what are the contents? I've attempted reading a couple and have found them very difficult to follow. Perhaps if I read them in the proper context, it might be easier.

My 3rd great grandparents were Eulogio Alvarez Flores and Carmen Flores Gonzalez. In the marriage info it says that they are related by "el parentesco de segundo con tercero de consanguinidad" Eulogio's parents were Jacinto Alvarez and Vicenta Flores. Carmen's parents were Carmen Flores and Antonia Gonzalez. I would like to know how they were related.

Simon Quinteros, son of Alvino & Alvina Rosales de Quinteros (Rio Grande, Zac, Mex)
md to Micaela Torres, daughter of Rafael Torres & Ma. Barbara Hernandez
Andres Mendez, son of Petronilo & Quirina Camacho de Mendez (Rancho Grande/Fresnillo, Zac, Mex) md to Dionicia Anguiano, daughter of Serulo? Anguiano & Gertrudis Campero. Serulo & Gertrudis also had another daughter named Jorja Anguiano who married Sebastian Fernandez in Zac, Mex.
Andres & Dionicia had several daughters together, one of which was my maternal ggrandmother, Domitila Mendez, who was married to Rafael Quinteros, son of Simon & Micaela Torres de Quinteros.
I have found these names through parrish records of the LDS church online but have hit a brick wall as to where to go to find info on the further back generations. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Nuestros Ranchos:
In preparation for the first ever family Reunion of the Gutierrez family, we
have decided to write a book of our history. We prepared Elder Interview sheets
in English and Spanish so that the family members could interview the elders. I
am willing to share our Elder Interview sheet if any of you ar interested.There
are 10 branches of Norberto & Margarita Gutierrez from Jalostotitlan. My
cousins and I personally interveiwed the 5 children of my grandmother and
videotaped them. We used the transcript for our Chapter. Unfortunately, one of
the Tios died 3 weeks later. We also did the DNA testing and the oldest living
survivor gave a cheek swab. He, too, died last month. Our reunion is July 16
and we expect between 800 and 1,000 persons! The living history, as recorded in
Our Book, will be a keepsake for all of our descendants. I recommend that you
do your Elder interviews while you still have your familiy.

decidimos escribir un libro de nuestra historia. Preparamos unas hojas
titutladas "Elder Interview" para la entrevista de los mayores de la familia.
Las preguntas estan en Ingles y Espanol. Si alguien quiere copia de las

despues. Nuestra reunion se llevara a cabo el 16 de julio y esperamos de 800 a
1000 personasy la historia viviente, aun ya escrita en Nuestro Libro, sera
nuestro tesoro y de nuestros desendientes. Recomiendo que hagan sus entrevistas
mientras tienen a sus familiares.

Linda, that's what I always do with my other great grandparents. Mentioning
names and places or events gets their memories back on track and talking about
things I like to hear from them about their childhood and families. Its kind of
hard thought because they're in their 90s and forgetting but reminding them
helps.
So yesterday my 90 year old grandmother came for vacation. Already and she has been a great help in my quest for un-answered questions. I plan on recording / interviewing her as much as possible. She is a goldmine of information :)

A travez de este medio convoco a todas las personas con apellido paterno Sanchez de Zacatecas (Jerez,Teul,Tlatenango,Colotlan y zonas aledañas) y Jalisco para que se realicen una prueba de ADN a fin de saber el parentezco ya que es un apellido muy comun y de diferentes origenes. Yo me hice la prueba en familytree y soy del haplogrupo R1b1a2. Mis ancestros llegaron a Garcia de la Cadena,Zacatecas Rancho La Tetilla alrededor de 1800 pero por la falta de registros parece imposible continuar mi busqueda. Por medio del ADN coincido con personas de Inglaterra,Irlanda, Escocia,Reino Unido y solo 2 personas de España todas con diferente apellido.

I've read a few marriage dispensations for Calvillo that reference "la Barranca de esta feligrecia." I can't figure out exactly what this town is today as there are a few "Barrancas" near Calvillo. Does anyone have a definite suggestion where "Barranca" might be?

Are their any archives on information about the educational background of relatives in our geneology tree going back to colonial times in Mexico?
Because how can one know of a relative was born in the 1700's in Mexico, how far in school did they get? Did they attend college?
Hi my name is Lynda Chavez and I must have made a mistake when I posted my introduction, I think that I only sent a link to one of my family lines. I have been working on some of my family lines and there are so many that I was hoping that others would have some connections to some of my ancestors. On my grandmothers side we are linked to Avila and Macias from Encarnacion de Diaz, Jalisco. It was only until the last several years in doing some family tree searches that I discovered that many (more than we thought) family members traveled to Jerome, Arizona from this area to work in the mines. I am a 4th generation of those ancestors to still be here, but many moved due to the mine shutting down in the mid 1900's. These are the families that traveled to Jerome, My great grandparents Andrea (Macias)& Santiago Avila who came with two infant daughters Refugia & Beatrice. An older sister Conception stayed behind and married a man with the last name Delgado. I know there is one relative from that line in Encenada, and the rest are now in San Diego. There were several children from this family and I think that she had grandchildren who were blind, but I heard sang beautifully. Santiago had a brother Isidro who apparently left Jerome and may have been killed in the war. He married Panfila Hernandez. Andrea had several brothers and sisters, Leonides who married Victoria Frausto, Enstanslao, Marciana, German, Castula, Cirilo, Eusebio, Sabina & Romulo. Jose and Romulo Macias came to Jerome. There parents were Crecencio Macias and Maria Jiminez. There were also other family relatives that traveled to Jerome by the names of Jiminez, Rosendo De la Cruz,Garcia, Romo(the Romo's moved to the Bisbee, Arizona area). I'm sure more will show up, I was just hoping some of you out there will notice a connection.

My father (Steven Andrew Olmos - first born) was born (3 Aug 1950) to Gil Olmos and Juanita Almeyda when Gil was 60 yrs old.
My grandfather, Gil Olmos, was born 1 Sep 1891 in Teocaltiche, Jalisco to parents Juan Olmos and Andrea Aguilera. This information I was able to find on FamilySearch.
Again, I would be extremely greatful if anyone could give me ideas on beginning my search

Hello all, I was wondering if any member here has gone through the Bautismo 1796-1851 or the Matrimonios 1806-1871 records for Villanueva. As both records are mixed with other's, and also include the towns and ranches around Villanueva, it has been hard for me to find the exact records for the town of Villanueva itself. In fact, I haven't found many records that say the town of Villanueva, but instead with the names of surrounding ranches instead.
Have I missed the pages where the Villanueva records are located, or is it that those books did not contain records for the town of Villanueva? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello all, my name is Lorenzo Carrillo, I'm from San Diego, ca and am one of the newest members of this site. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am 16 and have been interested in family researching since I was 12. I'm currently researchin the families : Carrillo, Juarez, rodarte, reveles, Avila, muro, Garcia, sotelo, Ramires, robles, hernandez, finada, Ortega, aristorena, roman,and Estrada. They all are from the state of Zacatecas . I became interested when I came to the realization a few years ago that I could only trace back to my great grandfather ( Lorenzo Carrillo Avila). My fathers side is my primary research from Zacatecas. My mothers side if the family all came from different parts of chihuahua . But, I'm very optimistic that I'll be able to unveil the truth of our roots from bothsides. People are often amazed at my age and all the work I do, but it's something valuable to me and my family and an activity I love to do.well I'm really looking forward to working with all of you in the near future , god bless and thank you for the opportunity to join this group. my dad got tested an i have the results,but we dont really know what it means, i think he was told that it was western european and we had a n irish hit, which was a surprise.
I am not sure about all the information they Family tree has sent him, as he is old, hard of hearing, not exactly masterful on the computer and just a somewhat silly old man.

I am seeking information regarding my maternal 4th great grandparents, Francisco Pena and Maria Alvina de Villalpando. They were married on 19 Feb 1785 in Teocaltiche, Jalisco. They had 7 children. Maria Alvina's parents were JUan Manuel Villalpando and Gertrudis Soto.
Hello and Saludos cordiales, my name is Lance Gonzalez and thank you for
allowing me to be a new member. I live in the area of Riverside, California
and am researching the maternal side of my father's family: The names of
Garcia Serratos Hernandez and Gutierrez are from Jalisco and later lived in
Zacatecas.
My great-grandfather Apolonio Garcia Serratos was said to be born in
Jalostotitlan Around 1872, although I could not find him in the church
registers of Jalos.
My Grandmother Agripina Garcia Hernandez was born in Acatic, Jalisco on the
23 of June 1907. The godparents "padrinos" listed on baptism were Abraham
Gonzalez, and Maria Rutila Gonzalez; brother & Sister, Don Abraham was later
the president of Acatic and a senator of Jalisco.
Agripina's older siblings:
Rafael Garcia born around 1902, Agustina Garcia Around 1905, he was said to
be a Lawyer Virginia Garcia, Around 1906, and Beatriz 29 July 1904, were
said to be born in Acatic also although I have not confirmed this. The
younger siblings" Salvador Garcia,Born 3 Mar 1916, Rebecca Garcia, around
1918 and Demetrio 1920 and they were born in either Fresnillo (Where
Agripina Garcia) attended the"Universidad de Autonoma").
On a side I made an earlier post to the "Research Forum" and I thought I had
made a post to the "History, culture and general discussion forum" Sorry I
am still learning my way around.
Does anyone know of a good reference on genetic testing for genealogy and for population migrations/studies that one does not need to be a geneticist to read?

PRIMER DUENO: El capitan espanol Don Pedro Fernandez de Quijas, Casado con Dona Maria Escalante Boroto, apoderandose de ella por conquista que hicera de los aborigenes del lugar. Comprendiendo la hacienda lo que ahora es el municipio de Loreto, Villa Hidalgo y prete del municipio de Pinos
SEGUNDO DUENO: Don Pedro de Quijas Escalante Hijo, por donacion de su padre. Para morir, ano de 1669, en su testamento menciona a varios de sus hijos, quidando posesionado de una parte de la hacienda Nicolas de Quijas, quien mas tarde llevaria su nombre San Nicosal de Quijas, Hoy, Nigromante, Zacatecas.
TERCER DUENO: Ano de 1720, por compra-venta qui hizo Manujel Garcia Rojas a la familia de Qiujas Escalante, para el ano de 1760 queda al frente de la hacienda Dona Ignacia Garcia Rojas viuda de Nicolas de Austria junto con Fray Jose Garcia Rojas. En esta compra-venta se desmembro la Hacienda de San Marcos quedando al frente de ella Don Jose de Leon Garcia Rojas, Casado con Dona Refugio Dominguez de Leon, dueno que constgruyo los dos presas de la Hacienda de San Marcos, conocidas como presa grande y presa chica, sin constuirle a la presa grande el caracol, graderia y parte faltante de la cortina.
CUARTO DUENO: El conde Don grancisco Medina y Torres, por compra a do, Viuda de Nicolas de Austria hacia el ano de 1760-1761, no entrando en este trato la venta de la Hacienda de San Marcos

I've found the phrase, "de la finada" recently in some marriage records and I'm not familiar with the phrase. It typically appears in front of a mother's name when naming parents in a marriage record. Like, "Jose Mendes y la finada Dolores Zamora..." It sounds like a reference to someone being deceased, but I've not previously seen or heard that term so applied and could not get any of the online translators to confirm.
Can anyone tell me if I'm on the right track?
