Carol and I share the same Campos family. I have traced this Campos
family to the early 1700's in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas. She also has
Castaneda from Tlaltenango, Zacatecas that are from the same time
period and location as my Castaneda...so well see if there is a match
there.
Note to Rosalinda and Stella,
Carol also shares our Soto family. Maria Antonia De Soto, married to
Fernando Silvestre De Urena, is a cousin to Juan Manuel Campos Soto.

preparation for my trip to Salt Lake City and while scouring the family history website I find that for my area of research, Nochistlan, Zacatecas, Mexico there is no extracted data to be found before 1875. Don't you mean AFTER 1875 there is no data
available. Before 1875 there is a lot of data available --
more than for any other area I've searched. You do need to work with the films too, however. I have all the marriage films on permanent loan, but I only have a few of the christening records for right at the turn of the 19th century. It is true, however, that there are no extracted
records after the late 1870's or 1880's. I assume that it was for privacy reasons that they did not extract them as the extraction program began at least 20 years ago and 110 years before that would be about 1875. However, they did microfilm the records and the
microfilms are available. You just have to scroll through each record to find the one you are looking for. |
Hello Alicia, This sounds like a similar case to Valparaiso, Zac. and other localities, where there are films but the data hasn't been extracted yet for the IGI. Please let us know when you get a reply from SLC Family history Center. Introduction: Campos/Alvarez Family
Hello to everyone. My name is Carol Lester. I began researching my family back in 1997. I found researching my American family challenging, yet also found an abundance of people and paper trails |

Hello Irma: Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment to me, but who knows some people's reasoning for some things?! Martin Del Campos?...Where is he from and when was he born and where? Give me some feedback..I come from a very LONG line of "Campos"!! By the way, Joseph is working on putting my file together for the group to view. It should be available before long. You will see I wasn't KIDDING about my long line!! REgards, CarolLester (NanaCarolL@...)

Hello Jonathan, Thanks for your insight about this matter. Do you have an idea what kind of changes are going to be made in the extraction program in SLC? Are things not moving along fast enough or something? thank you so much for this kind offer. . . jonathan@...
For all of you, who are wanting a copy of the Parish and Vital Records list, please send me your mailing address. Because, due to the size of the file(25 meg), I am going to just burn a CD, with the Parish and Vital Records list and other Mexican genealogical information, that I've collected over the years. And send it, to those who want a copy. Thanks, Jonathan jonathan@ |

There are a lot of films, that are still waiting to be extracted. Also, there alot of batch numbers, that are not on the Parish and Vital Records list. I am aware, that there are people, who have gotten permission, from Salt Lake, to extract all the records, from a certain area. I would assume, that one needs to contact the Extraction Deptment, in Salt Lake. And from, what I've heard lately, there is going to be some changes, in the extraction program, later on this year. thanks, Jonathan --- In ranchos@yahoogroups.com, Joseph Puenteswrote: > Well I'm thinking about it and I'm taking this discussion to the group. . . > > oh absolutely I understand what you are asking now. Have you checked with the Archives in Mexico City? Also, you may be able to find them in the church records.
