Making a copy of film records?

This may be a question I should have asked at the beginning of my research, but someone told me there was a way to make a copy of records found on film at the FHC. I know how to get the film and look at it, but I wasn't sure if I could actually make a copy of the original document, especially when it's one of many on a page.

The History Center that I visit has a projector where you can scan your
film, and once you find the record that you are interested in, you can zoom
in on it, focus, turn it side ways or at any angle you want. This projector
is attached to a computer that has a printer to print out the record you
have selected. They charged me 25 cents per copy; or you can take a CD and
for a Dollar you can copy all the records you want to it. or better yet, do
you have a memory stick? you can use it to copy the records to it and then
take them to your computer for viewing , editing, and printing.

I hope this helps.

John Gonzalez.

Fellow list members,

You can go to the LDS Family search here http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=0
and browse through the 1930 Mexico census.

Its time consuming, but using a period city map and going page by page I have locate family in the cities of Tampico and San Luis Potosi.

For the smaller towns and rural areas this should be much easier. Take a look

Dear Rancho Members--

I have used this site with good luck. However, the
records are not complete. If you do not find family
members in the different ranchos, towns, etc., do not
be discouraged. I have the 1930 Census on Microfilm
for a number of different places in Jalisco and I use
both of these sources.

Hello, they will make a copy for you that cost about 10 cents or you can take your digital camera and film it yourself.

I didn't have time to record a film I ordered that came in too late before leaving the area so I filmed a complete year of records.

Juan Gomez and Maria de Jesus Carrillo inJalos

Hi John! To the rescue like always. :-) gracias!

The problem is that I have that info already... I'd like to see if anyone has the record itself to see which of the 2 Juan's in the family he is. Also, I'd like more info on his parents Francisco and Ana Quiteria if possible.

Juan Gomez y Ma de Jesus Carrillo

Hello to all!

I am sooo excited. I've been able to link my current Gomez line from Juchipila, Zac back 5 generations to a couple from Jalos. It was Juan Gomez and Ma de Jesus Carrillo, married on 1/27/1809 in Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion in Jalostotitlan, Jalisco. The problem is that Juan's parent's Francisco and Ana Quiteria Agredano had 2 sons named Juan, one Juan Januario and one Juan Eugenio. Which one of these married Ma de Jesus Carrillo in Jalos? Help!

Ramiro,
Both my parents were born and raised in Las Animas. I'll ask them if the name rings a bell. As you may know the rancho is small, everybody knows everybody. I'll get back to you.

Hey Joseph ,

I'm behind you 100% , this is a group for genealogy . I belong to another genealogy group and it's a lot more slack when it comes to topics they even send jokes and things that really don't have anything to do with genealogy .

Sometimes it bugs me but like I said I'm 100 % behind you . As for me you KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !

Buena suerte.
Dear Mr. Joseph Puentes:
Vicente, says Good bye. The reason is that to my 51 years of age, I am plenty of works because I am finishing my third professional race.
Engineer, teacher of folkloric dance and secondary school. I have the satisfaction to have taken very high the name and traditions of Mexico by the world and of to have struggled by the overcoming of the people of the farms. I really filled with earth my shoes, like person in charge of the qualification of the farmers of the State of Yucatan during six years, for the improvement of its standard of life. Agent of change and improvement of the agricultural techniques during 16 years with the farmers of the center and Altos of Jalisco, which deserved the scholarship to me Eni filial Chem of Shell given in Lucca Italy in 1986. Now, I have been eight years like adviser, tutor and teacher of the children of migrant of Veracruz, Chiapas and Oaxaca that arrive at the border.
I appreciate the fine attentions of You and the people who wrote to me, to that were conscious objectives of the times that we lived.
Who has looking for Moors with knife where there were no them I congratulate, them of all heart, I admire their defensive position, hopefully that its words you are translated in concrete facts of aid and push of overcoming for the others, mainly of most destitute and needed. Vicente (before San Miguel), retires of the forum (without to have begun to speak of genealogy) like Galileo Galilei, saying: I love for ever the alteña woman until the day of my death. Thanks, and please to erase all evidence of which a day I was here. Good luck.

When I searched in the archives of Nuestros Ranchos, mormonboy had asked this question about Isabel Hurtado de Mendoza and you answered and this is when I discovered the names of Diego, Rodrigo Dias de Vivar Hurtado deMendoza, Marques de Cenate, and Maria Fonseca y Toledo, so I began to research and found these complete names so I wanted someone who has investigated much longer then me to let me know if these people were correct. If these are family members of Maria Muñoz. If I have the right Diego, Rodrigo or Maria.Do you know this to be true? Un Saludo.Sophia

Mexican Census 1930 #3

Dear Rancho Researchers--

For years, I followed my husband's family lines back
many centuries. Now I find what gives me great
pleasure is turning to more recent times. For some of
us, the 1930 Mexican Census is like the day before

Villa Garcia

Dear Group,
Does an LDS film for births 1857/58 Villa Garcia, Zacatecas exist? A border crossing record indicates that date and place of birth for my grgrandfather Rosalio Onate, AKA my brick wall. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Alice,

take a look, just weird, in the first page of Censo de Mexico 1930 for Villa Garcia, Zacatecas, in the mere Villa Garcia, there is a name as "jefe de manzana" a
profesor G. Yduñate B., what similar is that to "Oñate" surname!

Thanks to member Sally who provided more ancestors for me to research, I was able to find Nicolasa de la Torre, father Roque de la Torre, mother Juana de la Torre, christening date 24 March 1694. FHL film 439844 dates 1685-1716 recorded in Jerez de Garcia Salinas, Zacatecas, Mexico, two generations away from what Sally has called The Tronco of my Gonzales line.

Do not limit your searches to such strict guidelines but try these
combinations for a surname search WITH THE "Use Exact Spelling" box checked.

do the following searches with the first name left blank:

De la Torre Ledesma
De la Torre Ledezma
Torre Ledesma
Torre Ledezma
Torres Ledesma
Torres Ledezma
Torrez Ledesma
Torrez Ledezma

joseph

ps: this tip was taught to me by my cousin and member of the group Angie
Godina. Very simple yet very powerful search technique.

I have also found some of my Ledesma in familysearch as Deledesma.

One more suggestion would be

De La Torre Deledesma

and other variants as Joseph suggests. Wish I had more on the De La Torre line. The one I was working on was in Tepatitlan. We could have a link here, but so far nothing seems familiar.

I have a 176 de la Torre in my files from Jerez Zacatecas Mexico and from Jalisco Mexico.  My files are on Rootsweb.com.  If you put Andres de la Torre, abt 1850  in the family tree search box it will take you to my files then you can go to the index to see if I have any names you are interested in.

good luck in your search,

Dear Linda:
I searched, but no link yet. I have been busy with my other Genealogy
projects, so have not worked much on my Alviso/Jaurequi lines. The De La
Torre line is linked with the Jaurequi's in Tepatitlan. Rick Rodriquez has
researched some of the De La Torre's in my line. I guess the marriage of
Juliana de la Torre and Antonio Gonzalez does not have their parents listed,
so I may be at a standstill. I still need to check on their children's
baptisms. Maybe someday we will find a link.

I have also found some of my Ledesma in familysearch as Deledesma.

One more suggestion would be

De La Torre Deledesma

and other variants as Joseph suggests. Wish I had more on the De La Torre
line. The one I was working on was in Tepatitlan. We could have a link
here,
but so far nothing seems familiar.

Hi Anita,

I've moved this email over to the general@nuestrosranchos.org list

Go to the nuestrosranchos.org site and log in

then go to the top and see where it says "Albums" click on that link
then count over to the 7th folder which is called, "Members' and Group
Meeting Photos"

or specifically go to: http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/node/14347

once you are there then click on the option to the left called "Add a
album" and then fill in the information (title and description, give the
title as something like Anita (your last name) photos) and then click on
"submit"

after that then on the left side click on "Add a photo" and then add
your photo, or "Mass Import" if you want to add more than one photo at a
time.

Thanks, Joseph! I invite everyone to take a look at the photos. I added more photos; BANUELOS, my own family, and a couple of photos of my artwork. I hope you like them!

Bienvenida Carolina,

I have seen you write in both English and Spanish, so I hope you don't mind if I respond to your email in English.

I too have done some research in the Correa Surname in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas. Feel free to take a look at my files. Also, if you have a specific name and date approximation, I could look up the person in my family tree database.

Thanks,

Hello Everyone,

Can someone tell me if Diego Gonzalez de Hermosillo and Maria Rubio were the parents of Francisco Gutierres de Mendoza Rubio.
If not, does anyone know his parents and the parents of Ana Gonzalez Florida?
Also if anyone knows if they were born in Jalostotitlan or when they arrived.

Thank you.

That is a good question (see Sofia below). Are there records that a
researcher could review to determine if someone arrived in Los Altos
from Europe; something similar to the Ellis Island records? Or are
there ship manifests that are searchable?

Hello Everyone,

Can someone tell me if Diego Gonzalez de Hermosillo and Maria Rubio
were the parents of Francisco Gutierres de Mendoza Rubio.
If not, does anyone know his parents and the parents of Ana Gonzalez
Florida?
Also if anyone knows if they were born in Jalostotitlan or when they
arrived.

Thank you.

Sofia

A mi tambien me gusta aprender, especialmente
