Microfilms for Marriages in Nochistlan

Deena; I was your nice offer to do a lookup for
Nochistlan. I wonder if you have a marrage for a Francisco Macias and Leonarda
Ranirez for around 1845 to 1849. Their son Francisco was born in 1879 and I am
not sure if he was their 1st born or their last born so I am guessing about
their marrage dates. I have their son born in Jerez, Zacatecas and
am wondering if they may have come from there of Jerez and  the
records may be in Nichistlan.

Thankyou,

I have access to several of the microfilms
covering marriages in Nochistlan -- from about 1736 to 1880.  They are on
permanent loan at my local LDS Family History Center.  I would be happy
to do "lookups" for anyone if you give me a date.  I'm sorry that I don't
have enough free time to just scroll

Hi
I am researching my son's ancestors from Colotlan, Jalsico, Mexico.
I have hyphen the last names of his ancestors so it would be easier
to indentity the last names and middle names. Hope this is not a
problem. If there is a error, please let me know.

Joseph's LDS Films On Indefinite Hold

I've just entered my films that I have at my local Family History Center
on permanent hold. Some are ordered and should be here soon. If anyone
need a "specific" look up I'd be glad to do it unless you need it in a
hurry.

Just send me the specific date and who your are trying to find and I'll
do my best. . .sorry I can't just scroll through the film looking for
people, I barely have enough time to do this on a limited basis for myself.

thanks,

joseph

ps: now if anyone else would like to do this just send me your list of
films and I'll make up a folder for you in the files section.

Zaldivar (Saldivar) family of Jalisco and Zacatecas

Hello Ranchos group,

For many years I have been stuck at a impassable dead end.  I pray that someone out there could possibly help me out.

It all began when I discovered the marriage record of two of my ancestors.  Joseph Miguel Zaldivar (Saldivar) married María de los Dolores Jáuregui, in Nochistlán, Zacatecas, on 7 April 1777.  The marriage document said that Joseph Miguel Saldivar was "hijo legítimo de Xavier Saldivar y de María Josepha González."  Ma. de los Dolores Jáuregui was "hija legítima de Joseph Francisco de Jáuregui y de María Josepha Jiménez."  My Jáuregui line is well documented, and I have had no major problems there.

The problem is with Xavier Saldivar and María Josepha González.  I have found a few baptisms of their children in Jalostotitlán: Isidro Bonifacio Saldivar, bap. 28 May 1752; Segundo Pastor Saldivar, bap. 21 April 1754; María de los Dolores Saldivar, bap. 09 March 1760; and Bernardino Sinesio Saldivar, bap. 07 June 1761.  But no marriage.

I have seen Xa

Hello everyone,

I thought I should take some time
to respond to some queries regarding whether or not Jamay, Jalisco, actually
exists or if it has been abandoned.  Nothing could be further from the
truth.  Jamay is a small but nice town overlooking Lake Chapala.  It
is between Ocotlán and La Barca along the Carretera
Guadalajara-México,D.F.  I have been there a few times.  I remember
climbing the steps with my mom, dad, brothers, aunt, and my "Abuelita Lupe" up
to the church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe on top of a hill when I was 8

go down the page to where it says "state maps"

scroll down to Jalisco

click on the map section that has the large lake on it.

look next to Ocolotlan and you'll find Jamay.

ps: if anyone at all is having trouble accessing the different links and
areas of the group let me know. We'll work on it together if you like.

Friends; I keep seeing locations that are not Jalisco and presume
that those locations are very close to Jalisco. I can't find "Jamay"
Jalisco on a map, was it town that is now abandoned? I wonder, where
is Rancho San Agustin ? How close are La Barca to Guadalagara ?

The reason that I asked was because my Great-grandfather (Estavan
Ramirez)was born in Portezuelo, Jalisco , married my Great-
grandmother (Alvina Navaro)Born in San Agustin, Jalisco. My mom said
that Estevan was a french soldier that changed his name from Dubois
to Ramirez. He met and married Alvina(the foreman's daughter)while in
hiding at San Agostin. My mother,Julia Ramirez was born to Estevan
and Alvina's son Modesto Ramirez, in Guadalajara on 22 May 1908. My
mother said that the records of my great-grandfather, Estevan are
kept by a lady in "Chapulapec". I think there is a famous place
called Chapultepec, but is it in Jalisco ? Is there a place in
Jalisco by the same name ?How would a person check
