My dad was born in 1953 and i been told she died when he was 5.

Hola Members, if possible I need some understanding of Geronima Bernavides, wife of Francisco Paez.( In the book of Jose Luis Vazquez "Genealogia de Nochistlan" chapters 22 and 59.) In chapter 59 ,page 197 it states that Geronima Benavides is the daughter of Jeronimo Benavides and Catalina Cortes.In chapter 22,page 80 it states that Geronima Benvides is the daughter of Catalina Cortes (de quien se desconoce en nombre de su esposo). I am puzzled ,maybe my deficiency of the spanish language, I don't know. Another question -is besides Geronima Benavides, is Luis Benavides ,Catalina Cortes and Juan de Benavides siblings and from Jeronimo Benavides and Catalina Cortes.

His Spanish army and militia captured the British fort with a warehouse of weapons, food and supplies at Fort St. Joseph at Niles, Michigan.
He led the attacks on Mobile and Pensacola and drove the British from the Gulf coast.

while clemente acuna was wrong about maria rosales being a daughter of pedro cid caldera and maria carrillo (i've seen multiple documents stating that maria rosales's mom was agustina rosales and at least one stating her dad as miguel mateo rodarte), but considering that one part of this document i think like page 249 or 250 or something like that said that the carlos de godoys in taygua called the younger pedro cid 'tio'. because of that i can't help but think the rosales and cid caldera may be (distant like maybe 4-7 generations)relatives to the cid caldera.

2. Los padres de Andrés de Atilano y Pascuala de Hermosillo, tienen un hijo bautizado en 1705 en Jalostotitlán, Jalisco.
3. Los padres de Victoriano de la Paz, casado con María Andrea Moreno, he buscado su acta matrimonial en Lagos de Moreno, San Juan de los Lagos, Jalostotitlán y San Diego de Alejandría y no los he encontrado. Su fecha de matrimonio debió haber sido antes de 1764. A Victoriano lo tengo como posible hijo de Francisco Alejo de la Paz y Mendoza y de Casilda del Carmen Gutiérrez Maciel, porque son padrinos de uno de sus hijos y por las edades podrían coincidir, lo malo es que no he encontrado una partida bautismal de algún Victoriano como hijo de ellos dos.

Does anyone know if there is a connection with the early Bobadilla Family from Colotlan and early Bobadilla Family from Tlaltenango.
Specifically, Antonio de Bobadilla (abt 1670) and Maria de Avila (abt 1675).

Much documentation has been done on Bobadilla from Tlaltenango from late 1500's to mid 1600's, and I wanted to know if they were related in any way.
One last thing, I found a "Defuncion Record" in Colotlan from 08/26/1736 for Antonio de Bobadilla from Cartagenas and was married to Maria Juana de Villa. Could this be the same person (Antonio de Bobadilla), and they perhaps mispelled wife's last name during this time of chaos when people were dying daily of Tabardillo.

Just wondering why there are so many films forsaken by the borrowers and have never been finalized so that we members could access them?
Some of those films have been in that state for so many years. I assume they have been forsaken by the borrowers. Any chance anyone of us could help them index them?
How can we help "edit" some of them. The "edit" requires that we should either have the film or have it on permanent loan. With FamilySearch.org offering the film photos online, why is this requirement necessary? How do we go about adding/editing these films?

I would truly appreciate any help in finding Benito Torres and Felipa Rodarte marriage certificate. Benito Torres (1864) and Felipa Rodarte (1861). They may have married in Santa Maria de los Angeles, Colotlan, or Huejucar around 1879-1884. Thanks for your help.
For my fellow genealogists:
Maria de Islas y Sotomayor indicated in her will dated 8 Feb1713 that she and her late husband Agustin Lopez de la Cerda had five children(Felix Juan el mayor, Juan el menor, Agustina, Esteban and Antonio) and thatthey all married. Her testament can beaccessed online in the Aguascalientes archives.
Felix Juan el mayor age 29 married 6 Feb 1701 AGS to ElviraLopez Muñoz (aka Elvira de Cobos), hijalegitima de Miguel de Cobos and Teresa Lopes Muños. I stress hijalegitima because Elvira’s mother was deceased and her father was a priestwhen Elvira married. On that same day inAGS Juan el menor age 27 married Teresa Lopez Muñoz (aka Teresa de Cobos),sister of Elvira. When the brothersprovided their marriage information on January 17 and 18, 1701, one of theirwitnesses was Francisco Martin de Sotomayor, their primo hermano.
It appears that 1701 was a busy year for the Lopez de laCerda family. On 20 Dec 1701 the two youngerbrothers also gave information to marry. Esteban age 22 planned to marry Josepha Ramirez de Hermosillo. Antonio age 21 wanted to marry her sisterRosa Maria Ramirez de Hermosillo. Bothwomen were born and raised in Jalostotitlan and were the daughters of NicolasRamirez de Hermosillo (deceased) and Francisca Gutierrez de Barba. I assume they did marry although I do nothave the actual marriage dates.
Much of this data, including their ages, is available in the1699-1719 Marriage Information records of Cienega de Mata, Jalisco (Film640168). You can find them on FamilySearch. I'm reading off of an old Family Group Sheet and do not have internet links to give you.
So we have the two older brothers marrying sisters, as wellas the two younger brothers marrying sisters. As for the 5 Feb 1713 marriage of Juan to Anna Maria Muñoz de la Barba,I haven’t seen the document and assume it is his second marriage. And I wonder who that Antonio could be whomarried Josepha Alonso de los Hinojos in 1695. These are not my direct ancestors, so I don’t have extensive data. For that reason I do not have anything onAgustina.

It is in Katy's dispenses matrimonios 1690-1695, 1707,1709. 249-283 of 620 film 167980. You have to go into the 1700's to get to it, the 1600's indexes doesn't give you the right one.

Maria Fermina Munoz born 08 of July 1908 in Aguascalientes ,Aguascalientes . Maria Fermina 's baptismal date is 19 of July in El Sagrario in Aguascalientes.
The problem is either I am slow or I am not looking in the right spot , I can't find El Sagrario -Aguascalientes in order to search for records.
I have been looking at Family Search Records -Church and Civil with no luck. Does anybody know where to look for El Sagrario -Aguascalientes or Civil Records.
I base my dates on a copy of a baptismal record of El Sagrario but I can't find them in the Familysearch web

Dear friends and members of the Nueva Galicia Genealogical Society,
I have been busy the last few days updating our website. The agenda, date
and location of our next meeting are posted there. I am attaching the
revised bylaws and the agenda here for your convenience. Please take a few
moments to navigate the website and report any broken links or needed
updates to me. You'll notice that the banner has been updated to be
consistent with the Facebook Group page. It is a beautiful map of Nueva
España and Nueva Galicia that Erika Rivera found. Thank you Erika!

Nueva Galicia Genealogical Society Bylaws
ARTICLE I
Name
The name of this Society shall be Nueva Galicia Genealogical Society.
ARTICLE II
Object
The object of this Society shall be
a. to provide a venue for persons to share their Hispanic genealogy;
b. to assist those needing help in researching their Hispanic ancestry; and
c. to gather genealogical data of Nueva Galicia, Mexico.
ARTICLE III
Members
Section 1. Membership. The membership of this Society shall be open to
anyone interested in Hispanic genealogy.
Section 2. Dues. The annual dues shall be $20.00 dollars, payable in advance
on or before January 1 of each year. The Treasurer shall notify members 1
month in arrears by e-mail.
Section 3. A member is defined as anyone who regularly attends quarterly
meetings and pays yearly dues.
Section 4. Couples may opt to pay $20.00 per year in dues, but will only be
allowed one vote.
ARTICLE IV
Officers
Section 1. Officers and Duties. The officers of the Society shall be a
President, a Vice-President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. These officers
shall perform the duties prescribed by these bylaws.
Section 2. Nomination Procedure, Time of Elections. At the regular meeting
held on the month of April, members shall nominate Candidates for Office who
have been active members for a minimum of one year. The election of Officers
will take place at the annual meeting in July.
Section 3. Ballot Election, Term of Office. The officers shall be elected by
ballot to serve for two years or until their successors are elected, and
their term of office shall begin on July 1st. With the approval of the
Society, the vote by ballot may be dispensed with in favor of voice vote if
only one person is nominated for an office.
Section 4. Office-Holding Limitations. No member shall hold more than one
office at a time, and no member shall be eligible to serve more than two
consecutive terms in the same office.
Section 5. Parliamentarian. The President may appoint a Parliamentarian with
the approval of the Society.
Section 6. Vacancies. A vacancy in the office of the President shall be
filled by the Vice President. All other vacancies shall be filled by the
Society.
A. The President shall:
1. Preside at all meetings of NGGS and the Board.
2. Be the principal executive officer with responsibility for the general
supervision of the affairs of NGGS.
3. Be the official spokesperson of NGGS. Represent NGGS in all matters
concerning external affairs and relations with other organizations.
B. The Vice President shall:
1. Assume the presidency in the absence, incapacity, or resignation of the
President.
2. Oversee the management of NGGS office.
C. The Secretary shall:
1. Maintain an accurate record of the proceedings of NGGS and the Board.
2. Ensure that all official documents of NGGS are in a safe repository.
3. Maintain files of all committee reports.
D. The Treasurer shall:
1. Be custodian of the funds of NGGS and disburse or invest them pursuant
of the Board's policy or directive.
2. Present a proposed budget for the next fiscal year to the Board within
the first thirty days of the fiscal year.
3. Prepare financial reports for each Board meeting and at the end of the
fiscal year.
4. Make all financial records available for audit within thirty days after
the close of the fiscal year.
E. Removal of Officers:
1. Any officer of NGGS may be removed either with or without cause at any
time by an affirmative vote of three-fourths of the entire Board of
Directors whenever, in their judgment, the best interests of NGGS will be
served thereby.
ARTICLE V
Meetings
Section 1. Regular Meetings. The regular meetings of the Society shall be
held on the third Saturday of January, April, July and October unless
otherwise ordered by the Society or necessitated by meeting room
availability. The absence of a quorum does not cancel the monthly program.
Section 2. Special Meetings. Special meetings may be called by the President
or by the Executive Board and shall be called upon the written request of
three members of the Society. The purpose of the meeting shall be stated in
the call. Except in cases of emergency, at least three days notice shall be
given.
Section 3. Attendance . Attendance at any meeting is limited to members.
However, a guest may attend one meeting a year. Paid membership is required
for further attendance.
Section 4. Quorum. Five members of the Society shall constitute a quorum.
Section 5. Fiscal Year. The Societys fiscal year will be from January 1 to
December 31.
ARTICLE VI
The Executive Board
Section 1. Board Composition. The officers of the Society shall constitute
the Executive Board.
Section 2. Boards Duties and Powers. The Executive Board shall have general
supervision of the affairs of the Society between its regular meetings, make
recommendations to the Society, and perform such other duties as are
specified in these bylaws. The Board shall be subject to the orders of the
Society, and none of its acts shall conflict with action taken by the
Society.
Section 3. Board Meetings. Meetings of the Board may be called by the
President and shall be called upon the written request of three members of
the Board. Under emergency conditions, the Executive Board may meet by means
of email but any decision resulting from an email meeting will later need
the societys approval.
ARTICLE VII
Committees
Section 1. Committees. Committees may be appointed by the President for
specific purposes but with the approval of the Society.
ARTICLE VIII
Parliamentary Authority
The rules contained in the current edition of Roberts Rules of Order Newly
Revised shall govern the Society in all cases to which they are applicable
and in which they are not inconsistent with these bylaws and any special
rules of order the Society may adopt.
ARTICLE IX
Amendment of Bylaws
These bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of the Society by a
two-thirds vote, provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing
at the previous regular meeting or with the call of the meeting.
STANDING RULES
OF THE NUEVA GALICIA GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY
1. Regular Meetings. The Societys regular meetings shall be held in a
location and time as approved by the Society.
I am reading in the PARS website about the viaje to Mexico en 1712 by Juan Olivan De Rebolledo. I was interested in this word "Admirante" which then later found out it means "Admiral"

I think the Admiral is Juan De Esteban De Ubilla. I looked him up which led me to this enlace:

I find a FamilySearch reference to a marriage in 1654 in Aguascalientes. Here is the link: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JHP1-LBC
But the first book in the menu for matriomonios is 1663-1702. Does anyone know how to get to the book before that one? Or is it not viewable? These 2 people are 10th-great grandparents - I would love to go back one more generation.
