I just checked FamilySearch.org and it is not updated. It has a new look, but I am not finding in the IGI what I am finding in the Pilot Site (see link below).
Hola Claudia ,how are you ? Well I hope . I descend from the Reynoso line of Jalisco. There were 2 brothers Francisco and Diego Reynoso whose parents were Francisco Reynoso (born In Peru ) and Mariana Padilla Davilla (Culiacan and related to all Padillas in the Area) . The 2 brothers married 2 sisters Josefa and Margarita Renteria. Francisco married Josefa (1659)in Guadalajara and Diego married Margarita in(1680) Juchipila ,Zacatecas. So in a nut shell Francisco stayed in Jalisco and Diego in Zacatecas. What are your thoughts ?

Taking a moment to reply to Daniel concerning my maiden last name, de la O. This is my father's paternal last name and I have located an aunt who is doing research on the de la O Ortiz branch of the family. I'm extremely busy right now. My seven siblings and I are getting together in El Paso, Texas on August 1st to celebrate our Mom's 80th birthday. I was appointed the job of writing Mom's story and my husband is putting together a genealogical tree. We also collected as many pictures as possible to share with the family. As you can imagine this has become quite an undertaking. This project has taken over our lives for the past few months. Hopefully when we return from Texas in August, we'll to participate more fully in the information exchange for Nuestros Ranchos. We traveled to Mexico in April to meet aunts and uncles and they gave us so much valuable information that I definitely recommend that anyone doing genealogical research should travel to their

Could anyone in the group tell me what the word is right before "Zacatecana"? It looks like "F---ica". Is this a town where the bride was "originaria y vecina de"?
John,
I understand that children's surnames often do not match the patrilineal usage we employ today. However, often (but not always) those 'inconsistencies' have a 'logical' explanation. In the example of Gertrudis, Nava was her mother's surname. Other siblings took the Munoz from the mother side, while others the Gonzalez from the Paternal Grandfather in all sorts of combinations (with or without de Hermosillo). However, I wonder whether anyone knows of an Extracted Record that lists Ramirez de Hermosillo for members of that family. All the ones I've seen listed are Submitted Records. I wonder if all started with a transcription error (Ramirez instead of Gonzalez) with that error becoming perpetuated over time. By contrast, I do find Gonzalez Hermosillo as a surname asociated to Diego Alonso de Hermosillo's children. Just wondering.
Thanks John

Yes, it is good to hear your position on this, Joseph. I have been in other
forums for other groups and, one of my own postings I had no idea was
controversial, drew a very harsh attack from someone else in the group,
My investigation has lead me to Lorenza Ruiz de Esparza and her father Lope Ruiz de Esparza with an anknown mother. Searching here in Nuestros Ranchos I found that her mother was Francisca Gabai Navarro de Moctezuma and Francisca's mother's name was Petronila Navarro and her father was Martin Navarro. Supposibly there is a Cortez/ Moctezuma connection threw Petronila.
Hello all, I would like to know if anyone has any tips about how to continue
when you're stuck. My specific situation is that I was able to find records
back to 1856 for one of my family lines, others lines have ended sooner. On
