Jonathan,

I went on-line to see what this conference was about and it looks like it's open to the general public and it appears that one of the members of Ranchos will be a speaker, Mickey Garcia if I'm not mistaken.

I am considering attending this conference along with my sister in October. Thanks for this very valuable information. The only disadvantage to most is that most of the conference will be in spanish but what a great opportunity to meet up with hispanic historians and genealogists. Mimo Lozano will be a recipient of one of the awards so this is also an opportunity to meet her. If you want more information here's the URL to the website. www.legadolatino.org.

well I don't know, but you can listen to them directly off the internet

Instead of downloading just "left" click on it and it will start

Nuestros Ranchos Podcast

I'm starting a series of FREE podcast interviews on the subject of
Hispanic/Native American Genealogy and History. I hope to produce at
least one interview per month in the 30-45 minute time range. If you
are new to Podcasting I would suggest the following web site:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcasting.
Some might think this is
highly technical but it isn't and all you have to do is work through a
few steps to do it right. What follows are 3 ways to listen to these
interviews. I'm doing my best to provide a service that will be
valuable to the community. . .with that said I would encourage, beg,
plead, and ask you kindly to NOT listen to these
podcasts via method #3 entitled "Worst Way." Number 1 "Best
Way
" is easy, Number 2 "Okay Way" is easier, But Number 3 "Worst
Way
"
is the easiest by far to listen to but the worst way regarding the
Bandwidth demands that will be put on my Hosting Service. If my Hosting
Service sees that the "listeners" to these

I'd encourage everyone on Ranchos to Join Jonathans group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mexicanfhr/).
If the groups can work together in anyway I'm all for it. I highly
value Jonathan's contributions and hispanic genealogical knowledge.

May I make the suggestion of the Mexican FHR group
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mexicanfhr/).  It is a group that I
started about a year ago, to cover all of Mexico.  There are only 9
members at the moment.  And any one is welcome, to join.  Recently, I
took on a client, who has ancestry, from Santa Rosalia & Carmargo.  So
if there are questions, ask them.  And I will see if I can find an
answer.

Thanks,
