Nicolas Ximenes and Maria Gomes in Nochistlan/Mexticacan

I am researching my direct lineage thru Manuel de los Santos Ximenes, born around 1722 in Nochistlan/Mexticacan (not sure which for sure). His son, Miguel Antonio Ximenes, was born in Mexticacan, Jalisco, about 1758). If it helps, Miguel's wife was Margarita Clemencia Casillas y Franco de Paredes. They were married 27 May 1779 in Mexticacan.

Manuel's parents were Nicolas Ximenes and Maria Gomes. Manuel's wife was Angela Gertrudis Yniguez (b. ~1725). Manuel and Angela were married in Nochistlan on 24 Feb 1743. Angela's parents were Francisco Yniguez and Angela de Carabajal.

Part of the answer for me involves knowing more about the former Nochistlan. Was it only a town that corresponds to the present day town in Zacatecas, or was it something different in the past? I've not had much success tracking that down.

Thanks for any info!

Melchora de Ornelas and Nicolas Lopez

Hello Nuestros Ranchos Forum

I was hoping someone might be able to help me find the possible parents of
Melchora de Ornelas and Nicolas Lopez who had a natural born child around
1717, probably in Aguascalientes. Melchora de Ornelas would've been born
probably between 1690 - 1700 and Nicolas Lopez would've probably been born
around the same time in a place called el Puesto del Potrero de los Lopez.
The only information I have comes from their daughter's informacion
matrimonial in 1740 where it says she's 23 years old and describes her as:

Maria Theresa Lopez, española, originaria del Puesto del Potrero de los
Lopez, jurisdicción de la villa de Aguascalientes y vecina de esta
feligresía en el Puesto del Mesquite de cinco años a este parte, hija
natural de Nicolas Lopez, ya difunto, y de Melchora de Ornelas...

That's the only information I know. If anyone knows of a Melchora de
Ornelas in the same time frame of 1700 or earlier or a Nicolas Lopez also
born around the same time please let me know. Also, if someone knows of a
Lopez family from el Puesto del Potrero de los Lopez please let me know.

Hello, My name is Jesus Fletes from Las Vegas NV. I have been investigating my Ancestry for about 2 years now, and was very excited when I found the "Nuestros Ranchos"site. My roots are from the state of Jalisco, mainly Juchitalan and the neighboring pueblos and ranchos. I am searching for the Fletes, Fletes Del Castillo, Covarrubias, Cobian, Robles, and Melchor. I look foward to interacting with many of you! Thank you for reading my intro.

Parents of Maria Luna, wife of Eusebio Martin Lara

I would like opinions about who is the mother of Maria Luna, wife of Eusebio Martin Lara. On the marriage certificate for Eusebio and Maria, her parents' names are given as Don Jose de Luna and Juana de la Cruz, of Jesus Maria. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-69TW-9X9?i=210&wc=M6QF…

When I encountered this marriage certificate before, I assumed that the name of the mother was incorrect and that the parents were really Jose Luna and Maria de la Cruz. These parents had 11 children that I am aware of, beginning with Silberio (prob. about 1713) and ending with Maria de las Niebes (August 1731). I just assumed that Maria was the Maria born to them in April 1716 and baptized on 22 April. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6LHQ-96P?i=191&wc=TH-2…

But now that I run into her again (different line), I am not so sure. There was also a couple Jose de la Cruz and Juana de la Cruz. I am finding these 2 from death certificates. His death was in March of 1739 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6XGS-LVY?i=223&cc=1502… , and hers in October 1738 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6XGS-2ZV?i=178&cc=1502…

I cannot find a marriage for either couple. And I cannot locate any children from the second couple.

So I am really just looking for opinions. Is the mother's name incorrect on the marriage certificate? Or does Jose de Luna become Jose de la Cruz?

Juan Joseph Perea de Escamilla and Sebastiana Hurtado de Mendoza-Viramontes de la Cadena

Im trying to see if anyone here in Nuestros Ranchos has any information on my Escamilla line.. Im looking for information on Juan Joseph Perea de Escamilla and Sebastiana Hurtado de Mendoza from Celaya, Guanajuato i found multiple baptism records for their children, but can't find a marriage record for them. I think i found information on Sebastiana since she used Aguilar in some of the baptism records she could be the daughter of Ysidro Hurtado de Mendoza from Zacatecas and Thomasa de Aguilar Ramos.

Heres the Baptism record for my 9th ggf Angel Laureano Escamilla looks like he moved to Ciudad, Guzman Jalisco around 1759 after the death of his first wife remarried my 9th ggm Maria Antonia (V)Miramontes de la Cadena from Teocaltiche, Jalisco, daughter of Juan Antonio de Viramontes and Efigenia de la Cadena.

Baptism

Marriage

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-F4SZ-Y8?i=511&wc=3JH8-…

Im wondering if anyone here has information on those lines. I have read some information on the Viramontes from Zacatescas, but cant seem to connect them to mine.

Thanks

Errors in text display

Does anyone else have text display errors when receiving emails that contain letters with accent marks? I notice that words like “María” show up in my email as “Mar?a” or some other incorrect character. (I hope mine shows up on the list as Maria with the letter “i” accented - if it doesn’t, then it’s just the error preventing it.)

I’m using Mail.app in MacOS Sierra 10.12.6. Is it a function of some character encoding that I need to adjust? It’s very annoying having to read Spanish with all the diacriticals replaced by random characters.

Thanks,
Rick Fernández

Yes. It's hard to read these bulletins. Lots of weird punctuations.

Saludos y gracias.

Thank you. My most recent Batres is Macaria Batres, born 10 Mar 1872 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas. She was the daughter of Cleofas Batres (dead by 1906) and Maria de Jesus Almeida (born 1855 in Fresnillo), who were married in 1874 in Fresnillo. They had 10 children that I could find, including Macaria, my great-grandmother.
Cleofas Batres’ parents were Zacarias Batres and Petra Garcia. I know nothing more about them than their names from subsequent marriage and baptism records.

> 3. Re: Cristobal Macias (Danny Alonso)
I have both Macias and Balades in my direct family lines.

Most recent is Maria de la Luz Eduarda Valades, married to Josef Eugenio de Herrera in Rincon de Romos, Aguascalientes on 2 Jul 1797.
Maria’s father was Pablo Santiago Valades, married to Maria Josepha Bartola de Lira on 28 Sep 1757 in Cienega de Mata, Jalisco.
Pablo’s father was Blas Valades, who died by 1757. Blas was married to Antonia Moreno.

I do have a Christobal Macias in my direct line. Christobal was the son of Manuel Macias and Maria Lopez (which name appears in the dispensa you referenced and who was dead by 1719). Christobal was born in Aguascalientes, Aguas. He was residing in Celaya, Guanajuato in 1719, the year he got married to June 2 to Phelipa de la Cruz de Sierra in Celaya at Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción. I don’t have information on where his father Manual or his mother Maria were from.
Christobal had two children that I have found, Maria de la Encarnacion Macias and Mathias Macias. Matias was born about 1723 and Maria was born in 1725 (baptised 26 Mar 1725 in Celaya).
I am very intrigued by the shared name of Maria Lopez. Could you send me a copy of the dispensa please? From the quotation you cited, it seems that Maria Lopez would indeed have been the grandmother to any child of Christobal, since Maria Lopez was his mother. However, the quotation is a bit confusing since it seems like Maria Lopez is the illegitimate daughter of Christobal Macias. I’d love to review it directly. I’m excited to think we’ve made a connexion!

Cristobal Macias

Hello Nuestros Ranchos Forum,

I'm trying to see if anyone has information on a Cristobal Macias, probably
Cristobal Macias Valadez, he would be a child of one of the early Macias
Valdez, and he was probably born late 1500s or very early 1600s. The only
information I have is from a dispensa from 1693 that says he had an natural
born daughter with a mestiza, Magdalena Marta:

la dicha María López, su abuela, fué hija natural de *Cristóbal Macías*,
español y hombre noble, y de Magdalena Marta, mestiza, sus bisabuelos los
cuales son difuntos y fueron vecinos del Pueblo de Teocaltiche el
Grande...(3 de junio de 1693)

Does anyone know of an early Macias Valadez that had a son named Cristobal?

Unsubscribe me as well

Because Robert (gandalf3.1@netzero.com) said it so clearly and so well I am
moved to ask that I be unsubscribed as well. When he said we are "under
attack and we need to stand together..." I agreed. As he went further and
stated "The content of SP often reflects the very ideology of those in this
country who despise us, this is why many of us are upset. I'll say no
more...but if I have to compromise my beliefs to remain here, I can do
without..." I stand with Robert. Unsubscribe me as well. I will fight those
voices in my own way in other places. Thanks Robert for your articulation.
