Miguel Alonso de los Inojos

I am hoping someone can help me identify/confirm Miguel's parents. I have
not been able to locate records of his marriage to Phelipa Galarza,
daughter of Antonio Galarza and Feliciana Carrillo de Sandi y Lopez de
Rubalcaba. I descend from his daughter, Feliciana Alonso de los Inojos,
baptized 2 Dec 1713 in Teocaltiche, where her sister, Juana Francisca, was
baptized in 1711. Feliciana married Bernardo de la O Contreras in
Teocaltiche on 11 Feb 1733. There are two other siblings, Pedro and Maria,
identified by their later marriage records. I suspect that Miguel is
related to Pedro Alonso de los Inojos and Ana Dominguez of Aguascalientes,
but have never been able to find documentation of a link. Another clue
that makes me think they are related is that the godparents of Juana
Francisca are Xptoval Flores y Maria Dominguez. Can anyone help?:
Thanks for taking the time--Raquel Ruiz

Employment Definition

Could someone please define the difference between these titles: Empleado particular and Empleado Publico. I have ancestor who appears to be one signing and documenting as "encargado del --- registro civil". Puzzled why the job titles are important to identify perhaps working for the city? Was this person perhaps an important member of society?

Pedro Alonso de los Hinojos & Ana Dominguez

Hola prim@s,

I don’t have this family in my lines, but I’ve accumulated some information on them, which I thought I’d share with those of you who do.

Pedro Alonso de los Hinojos married Ana Dominguez 3 May 1620, on Paraje de Las Bocas in San Matias, Pinos. Their padrinos were Hernando Medel and his wife, Maria Perez; testigos were Miguel Diaz and Juan Vasquez. After marrying, they’d live on Las Bocas, eventually relocating to Aguascalientes, some time between May 1633 and Mar 1636.

The children of Pedro Alonso de los Hinojos and Ana Dominguez are:

1. Maria Alonso de los Hinojos Dominguez, b. 21 Mar 1621, San Matias, Pinos, Zac. Padrino Cristobal Hernandez. Appears as madrina for baptism of younger sister, Luisa, on 15 May 1633.
2. Juan Alonso de los Hinojos Dominguez, b. 03 May 1622, San Matias, Pinos, Zac, padrinos Cristobal Hernandez y Sebastiana Diaz; m. Ysabel Lopez Ramirez, 22 May 1652, Santa Maria de Lagos, Jal.
3. Luisa Alonso de los Hinojos Dominguez, b. 15 May 1633, San Matias, Pinos, Zac, madrina: Maria Alonso (her older sister); m. Blas Hernandez Gamiño, 19 Jul 1654, Asuncion de Maria, Ags.
4. Diego Alonso de los Hinojos Dominguez, b. 19 Mar 1636, Asuncion de Maria, Ags, pp Joseph de Alba y Da Catalina su muger; d. 07 Mar 1660, Asuncion de Maria, Ags. Clerigo Presbitero, ordained Corona y 4 grados: 11 Jan 1654; 15 Mar 1659.
5. Joseph Alonso de los Hinojos Dominguez, b. 05 Apr 1637, Asuncion de Maria, Ags, padrinos Juan Rodriguez de Chavarria y Beatriz Retamosa su muger; d. 06 Mar 1700, Asuncion de Maria, Ags; m. Maria Teresa Ruiz de Lizalde.
6. Ana Dominguez, b. 10 Jan 1639, Asuncion de Maria, Ags; m1. Juan Hernandez Gamiño; m2. Francisco Fernandez de Palos, 30 Dec 1688, Asuncion de Maria, Ags.
7. Pedro Alonso de los Hinojos Dominguez, b. 30 May 1643, Asuncion de Maria, Ags.
8. Nicolas Alonso de los Hinojos Dominguez, b. 02 Nov 1645, Asuncion de Maria, Ags, padrino: Hernando Calderon; Ordained, Corona y 4 grados, 4 May 1662, Aguascalientes.
9. Leonor Sanchez de los Hinojos Dominguez, b. 13 Jun 1647, Asuncion de Maria, Ags; m. Nicolas de Palos.
10. Antonio Alonso de los Hinojos Dominguez, b. 25 Apr 1649, Asuncion de Maria, Ags. Padrino: Diego Vasquez Buendia.

Thank you, Mary Lou Montagna, for the early San Matias Pinos baptism and marriage indexes.

ORIGINS OF PEDRO ALONSO DE LOS HINOJOS

According to the Limpieza de Sangre required when their son, Nicolas Alonso, took his religious orders, 4 May 1662, Pedro Alonso was son of Diego Alonso de los Hinojos and Leonor Sanchez de Ulloa, of San Luis Potosi, and Ana Dominguez was daughter of Miguel Diaz and Maria Medel, originally from Leon, Gto (and owners of Paraje de Las Bocas, in Sierra de Pinos).
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-DVT7-V?i=554&wc=3JWL-YWG&c…

According to Rafael Morales Bocardo, in his “Diccionario...,” Diego Alonso de los Hinojos was a “dueño de recua”: he owned a mule train. He and Leonor Sanchez were also parents of:

- Diego Alonso de los Hinojos “El Mozo”
- Juan Alonso de los Hinojos, m. Beatriz Lopez del Castillo
- Leonor Sanchez
- Ysabel Sanchez
- Catalina Martin

On 6 May 1616, in SLP, Diego Alonso de los Hinojos agreed to act as guarantor for his son-in-law, Juan Muñiz, for a debt that he owed to Francisca de la Paz, viuda. Juan Muñiz and Ysabel Sanchez baptized Juan, 13 Jul 1616, Sagrario SLP.

When daughter Catalina Martin submitted her Testamento, on 4 Aug 1658, she declared that she was born in Zamora, Michoacan. Catalina Martin married twice: m1. Diego Lopez de Mesa, m2. Fernando Coçetillo.

Juan Alonso de los Hinojos and Beatriz Lopez baptized their first 2 children in Zamora: Madalena, 30 Apr 1610, and Juana, 7 Aug 1613 (agua) & 30 Dec 1613 (pusieron los oleos). The madrina on Dec 30 was Juana Lopez, the child's grandmother, so we know Beatriz Lopez was from Zamora, where she and Juan Alonso likely married.

That said, I have a feeling that this family group originated in Zamora, that Diego Alonso de la Hinojos and Leonor Sanchez probably had their children there, before establishing themselves in San Luis Potosi. So if any of you are researching this line, I'd recommend starting there. That's all I have.

Saludos!

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-F3W8-K?i=421&cc=1874591

Help on names from Aguascalientes and Zacatecas

Hello all!

I would like to know if someone has more information on the following couple, as I haven't been able to find their parents:

Jose Manuel Ponce, married to Maria de la Encarnación Esparza, around 1780 in Aguascalientes.

Patricio Davila y Muñoz, married to María Francisca de Escobedo around 1770 in Jerez, Zacatecas.

Antonio Felix de Arellano, married to Juliana Diaz around 1790 in Jerez, Zacatecas.

Thank you in advance!

Alejandro

Jose Manuel Romo de Vivar and Maria Gertrudis Loera

I need help in finding the parents of Jose Manuel Romo de Vivar and Maria (Gertrudis) Loera. I have been researching the line of descent of their daughter Maria Micaela Romo de Vivar. Maria MIchaela was married in 1779 so this places Jose Manuel Romo de Vivar and Maria Loera as being born in the early to mid 1700's. Maria Michaela Romo de Vivar did marry another Romo de Vivar but the marriage record states that a marriage dispensation was not needed. This Romo line eventually leaves the Aguascalientes area and moves to Coahuila.
Thanks,

Juana María Castallenos Villarroel y Antonia Castellanos Villarroel.

Marcos Marin

I am looking for information on Marcos Marin and his wife Luisa. Actually, I am looking for opinions.

On the birth certificates of many of their children, her name is given as Luisa Tiscareño. In Ancestry.com, she is identified as the daughter of José Delgado de Gabay and Francisca Tiscareño Ruiz. However, there is a marriage for Marcos Marin and Maria Luisa on 5 May 1670 in Aguascalientes. They are indios - his parents given as Diego de la Cruz and Maria Magdalena, hers are Juan Baltasar and Catalina Maria. The interesting part is that her parents are identified as "..servientes en la hacienda de los Tiscareño..."

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-65T9-32T?i=36&wc=M6QF-… (it is the last record on page 37, continuing on 38)

The first child of the couple that I can find was Thomasa, baptized on 23 April 1671, which would fit with the May 1670 marriage. She is india. Maria was baptized 5 April 1676 and is also india.

Catalina, baptized 26 May 1678 and Luis, baptized 10 August 1680, are both mestizos.

There is a baptismal certificate for Luisa on 1 December 1653 - born to Juan Baltasar and Maria Catalina. I think that is probably the Luisa from the marriage certificate.

There is a baptismal certificate for Luisa Delgado de Tiscareño on 1 December 1649. This is the Luisa born to José Delgado de Gabay and Francisca Tiscareño Ruiz.

I actually think I just answered my own question in looking through all of this. I believe that Marcos Marin and Luisa (1653) are the parents of these children. I would like to hear all opinions.

Does anyone know how I can contact the cemetery in cocula Jalisco to locate a headstone? I can't find a birth record for a family member, but i have his death record. His name was Gregorio Antonio Esparza, died on May 2 1806 in Cocula, he was supposedly born in Amatlan de Canas in Nayarit around 1750's. Not exactly sure. Hoping his headstone will have a birthdate and parents names so i can continue my search. Or if anyone has tips on how I can get the info. The church record book that should have his info has water damage, So either his entry is on one of the areas that is damaged and cant read or he came from another area.

No estoy seguro.

Does anyone have a conncection to Juan Esteban Esparza and/or Gregorio Antonio Esparza, Amatlan de Canas 1700's?

Hi. I'm stuck and need some help. Looking for birth record for Juan Esteban (or Estevan) Esparza born in Amatalan De Canas around 1767. His Father is Gregorio Antonia Esparza mother is Marian Lopez de Aguilar. I have Esteban marriage record to Maria Luciana Preciado in 1791 in cocula jalisco. In it, it says he is 24 so I can assume he was born in 1767. I can't find any other record to confirm age and birth place. He has a brother Joseph Raphael de la cruz Esparza born 1768 born in Amatlan, and a sister Maria Joespha esparza, born 1783 in cocula. I have the brother and sister record, but can't find the one for Juan esteban, even though it should be in the same book.

Record for the Brother.

Here is the Marriage record for Juan.
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18430-34984-18

Its the last entry bottom right and goes for the next couple pages.
If anyone has any connection or tips that would be helpful let me know. Thanks!!

Hernández Bejarano

Hello forum,

This family is very apart from the Hernández Gamiño family. I found some of them at the beginnings of the XVII century in Zamora.

Lázaro was born on 24 August 1610:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-GY3V-G2

He was the son of Lázaro Hernández and Catalina Jiménez.

The only information I have found on Lázaro Hernández and Catalina Jiménez is the following citation from Mariano González-Leal in "Retoños de España en la Nueva Galicia":

"Don Juan Antonio Maldonado, segun informa don Steven F. Hernández López, casó en Zamora el 3 de octubre de 1622 con doña María Romero Bejines, quien fué sepultada en Zamora el 30 de abril de 1648.
La última fué hija de Lázaro Hernández Bejarano y de Catalina Jiménez Romero Bejines - Abuelos paternos, Alonso Hernández Bejarano y Anna de Estrada ..."

So Lázaro (In the christenig record) and María (Juan Antonio Maldonado's wife) were the children of Lázaro Hernández and Catalina Jiménez and this last Lázaro was the child of Alonso Hernández Bejarano and Anna de Estrada.

Is there any experienced genealogist having some information on Alonso Hernández Bejarano and/or Anna de Estrada?

Coud it be this Alonso Hernández Bejarano the son or the grandson of the Alonso Hernández in the following document. This last Alonso was the son of Diego Hernández Bejarano and Juana Fernández:

http://pares.mcu.es/ParesBusquedas/servlets/Control_servlet?accion=4&tx…

Based on "Catálogo de Pasajeros a Indias" (Papeleta No. 4117, libro V, folio 284-v año 1538) this Alonso supposedly travelled to "la Florida".

Diego Delgadillo

>
> Hi Nena (Maria Elena),

It looks like your Diego Delgadillo is the son of our Diego Delgadillo.
According to my database I was showing 8 children born to Diego Delgadillo
and Petrona de Yslas. In order of birth: Mariana 1655, Thomasa 1657 (my
ancestress), Bernardino 1659, Juan 1668, Catarina 1670, Maria 1672, Agustin
1674, and Christobal 1677. As you can see, there is a gap between
Bernardino and Juan where Diego fits in quite nicely. I looked him up on the
IGI and it did show that he was the son of Diego and Petrona. I have just
added your Diego to my database.

Is this Diego your direct ancestor? If so, we are cousins once again!

Maria

García Family, Teocaltiche, JAL

I was hoping that someone within this community may have some more information on this family pre-1850s.

From my own family (and confirmed through Ancestry.com), I knew about Pedro García and his wife Maria Refugio Aguilera (1816-1901), both from Teocaltiche, Jalisco. Through one of their children's marriage certificates, I found their parents from both sides: Lorenzo García and Agapita de la Paz, and Juan Nepomuceno Aguilera (b.1775) and Maria Rosa Aguilera (b.1790).

I'm not sure if Ancestry.com is lacking in Mexican historical records, or if this time period just gets tricky to find information for. But I have not been able to find anything for Lorenzo García and Agapita de la Paz, except for their grandchild's marriage certificate they are mentioned in. Not a single record...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Juan De Angon Pasajo De Indias 1606 to Rancho De Juan De Angon 1633 (Huejuquilla)

I have found in the PARS Archive a document about the "Pasajero De Indias" of Juan De Angon who traveled to Nuevo Espana (Mexico) in 1606. Here is the reference number to enter to see: CONTRATACION,5295,N.10

In this link: http://www.archivesportaleurope.net/web/guest

The style of writing on that document is hard for me to read but I can make out some of it.

Now, in the LDS Online Catholic Church Records I had seen the Cofradia of Huejuquilla 1633 - 1700. I noticed on one of the pages, year 1633, the author mentions that he visits the "Rancho De Juan De Angon"

http://oi57.tinypic.com/2dcdd03.jpg

I showed the Cofradia archive to a historian in Zacatecas, Mexico and he reviewed it for me and told me that the Rancho De Juan De Angon was converted into a Hacienda but doesn't know the name of it.

My GGGGGGG Grandmother Maria De La Candelaria Angon (1655 - 1735) resided in Minillas, Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico.

Any information Catalina Lopez de Castro m. Juan Perez de Frias

Hello,

I descend from Juan Perez de Frias and Catalina Lopez de Castro. I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding the ascendancy of Catalina Lopez de Castro. I have connected Juan Perez de Frias as the son of Diego Perez de Frias and Elena de Sotomayor.

Also does anyone have access to Diego and Elena's marriage document?

Thank you,
Alex

Alonsos, Tiscareno, Lopes

After 2 years of looking for the Alonsos and Gomes who started in early 1700 to marry into the core families of Delgado, Rodriguez, Lopes and Escareno, I finally found Urbano Alonso (2cousin 2x removed) married to my 2nd Great Aunt Maria Guadalupe Lopes and they had a Dispensa. I could not find the dispensa. Then I found he also married the sister of Maria Guadalupe and had another dispensa for 1st with 2nd and 3rd . I was hoping to find where did the Alonsos originate (I did find one as Alonso de los Ynojos married into the Gomes but not in my direct line. While I have Gomes de Sotomayor within this core family, I have not found a connection).

After again searching for Dispensas I found the following in this book of San Luis Potosi

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9GL8-9QD3

• IM -1864-1920 3006 pages

I had read somewhere that there had been heated discussions to San Luis being part of Michoacán and not Guadalajara Obispados. That Salinas was part of Zacatecas and others have said no way. I also found some communication coming from Guadalajara and not Michoacán so it seems there was a change just not sure what.
Curious as the first pages stated Diligencias Matrimonial. I found a Page with Urbano Alonso and Ascencion Lopes

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9GL8-9QNC

1st question - The quality is very poor so my first question is “does anybody know of a program that could enhance the pages. I do have the basic editing and did so, but still I can’t read it. I then put the info I did have on the family and came up with the part of the connection that does not really include Alonsos. I am interested what the testigos stated.

2nd question - Is this the Dispensa in a different format for the modern times?

Felipe Lopez & Francisca Gonzalez

Hello, I am interested in finding more information on Felipe Lopez (b. abt. 1638) and Francisca Gonzalez (b. abt. 1644). I am specifically interested in Francisca as I am a direct descent of hers maternally. Here is a link to their marriage record.

I was able to locate three of their children. Their daughter Gertrudis Lopez (born around 1670) married Pedro Sanchez De Paez on 8 Jun 1688 in Teocaltiche, Jalisco. He was the son of Francisco De La Paz y Cortes (Paez) and Francisca Sanchez De Hermosillo.

Their son Joseph Lopez married twice: to Catharina Cervantes on 8 Jan 1702 in Lagos De Moreno, Jalisco and then to Juliana Macias on 9 Feb 1712 also in Los Lagos.

I also found a daughter named Maria who was born in Oct 1685 in Teocaltiche, Jalisco.

I would appreciate any help as I know that ultimately Francisca's mother, grandmother etc will show indigenous lineage. I would just like to get as far maternally as possible on this line.

Regards,
Vanessa
