I am working on the line of Andres de la Torre and Maria Demetria Montes from Tepetongo, Zac approx birth dates conflicting.. IF there first son Pedro de la Torre/Maria Petra Vera abt 1700 and 1705 is correct then it would be impossible for Andres and Demetria next children Josefa Refugio Simona born 1783 and Joseph Pedro Celestino born 1788.
Pedro and Maria Petra Vera have 4 children born between 1820-1835 all claiming Andres de la Torre and Maria Demetria Montes as grandparents! I'm praying someone else has figured this out!

I have been researching all sides of my family tree, from my Roman side in the Jalisco area to my Perez side from I don't know where. This is where I am in need of assistance. I am stuck stuck stuck. I recently went through one major brick wall which was such a relief, but now I cannot get through this other one. I do not know where to turn. I am trying to figure out where my great grandfather on my mothers side is from. I cannot find a birth record, a death record or a marriage record for him. I have a 1930 Census Record from the US and a WWI Draft Registration Card with his name and birth date and "Mexico" on it, only. His name is Francisco Perez, born July 24, 1885, Mexico. Wife was Nieves Juarez Perez (B: Aug 1899, D:1924).

Any suggestions are appreciated. I use Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.com. FamilySearch has been a gold mine of information for me. But I can't get past this.
Any suggestions to other websites or what to do, or anything I will take!

I'm still working on my Ponce and Calvillo ancestors from Aguascalientes and I'm currently looking for information on my GGGGGGGGgrandfather Bartolome Ponce who was married to Juana Manuela Lozano de Gardea. I believe they were from Aguascalientes. They would've probably been born sometime between 1700 and 1720. Their son Miguel Ponce married María de Guadalupe de Medina on May 1, 1764 at El Sagrario, Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes. Thank you Austin for helping with that record. The record lists Bartolome and Juana as the parents of Miguel Ponce. The parents listed for María de Guadalupe de Medina are Francisco Javier de Medina and María Francisca Bernales Delgado. The only information I can see that's close to a Juana Manuela Lozano de Gardea was a Juana Lozano sometimes listed as Manuela Lozano that had children with a Bartholome Martel. Any information that anyone might have on Bartolome Ponce, Juana Manuela Lozano de Gardea, Francisco Javier de Medina and María Francisca Bernales Delgado and their families and ancestors is greatly appreciated.

I was so glad yesterday when I found Sebastian Munoz parents as well as Sostenes Aguirre that just literally made my whole day.I found them by locating a baptism record of a daughter of Sebastian Munoz Camila Munoz, because i couldn't find the baptism of Vicenta Munoz my grandpas mother.But thank got I found it.

Hello my name is Anisabel Santamaria. I should really be doing research on my family in Sonora, (i'm kind of stuck now) however, my husband's paternal & maternal side has been interesting and fairly easy to find, of course until you hit a wall and don't know where else to go. I am looking for information from El Tuito, Jalisco on the Rubio, Castillon, & Avalos families. I did go all the way back to 1815 on the Castillon family and thought I had a connection until about 1830 defunciones, it skips about 10 years, where is probably where my answers are. The pages are consistent but somehow those 10 years are missing.

As for my husband's paternal side, Santamaria, Salgado & Preciado are from Tomatlan. His great grandfather Pablo Santamaria was supposedly a "huerfano" and it turns out they were wrong. I called the church to find out information on Pablo's brother, Enrigue Santamaria and found his baptism and their father, who is Gabriel Santamaria. Well until I find out some dates to break it down I hate to call the church without good information. I have been unable to find the marriage of Clara Salgado with Pablo Santamaria. I found census information on the entire family on both maternal and paternal side but the Santamaria leads me to a dead end without any more dates. I was told the church in Tomatlan had burned down or something but if I continue to listen to his family (BTW....it looks like I know more information on his family than they do :) they will detour me the wrong way.

This research is both tiring yet exciting when I find a link. I did make a connection to a child Maria Susana Castillon in El Tuito died 1819 and her father's name was Onofre Castillon, which is what my mother in laws grandfather's name is so I'll assume that this Onofre is the main patriarch of the clan from the 1700's. I believe the info I found on this death entry shows that they are indeed from Spain, which we all know most of them are but having something actually in writing is where all your research rewards you.

Well since I am new I hope I did this right and haven't left our or added too much on this forum. I would appreciate any information that you might have. BTW...is familysearch.org going to add Tomatlan to their database? I would love to help index for Jalisco, if we are allowed to chose the location. Thanks.

The above, captioned couple were married 20 ene 1720 in San Juan Barco, la Barca, Jalisco. They had at least three children: George Teodoro (bau. 28 abr 1720), Joseph Manuel (bau. 08 may 1723) and Juana María (bau. 13 ene 1726).

My research includes a María Josepha Benites who married Miguel Aseves in Portesuelo, la Barca 11 jul 1742. It is not an unreasonable speculation that 'my' María Josepha may also be a child of the above family, although I have not yet located her baptismal record.

Does anyone have any research that may include either María Josepha Benites or the family of Salbadór Benites de Villa Reál and Clara de Susilla?

Hi, I am new here and I am trying to find more information on my ancestry and I am trying to get a sense as to where my ancestors are from since my family has no clue as to where we come from. I have been doing a lot of research for almost 9 months now and have been able to find a lot of interesting stuff that has surprised my whole family however I can not find more information about a specific family. I am stuck on my 2nd-great grandmother's parents and their family. Her name was Maria Patrocinio? or Patrocinia? Dimas born on the 17th of September of 1883 and baptized on the 1st of October 1883. She had a daughter who is my great grandmother named Vicenta Camarena with a man whose name I still don't know besides his last name (Camarena). Maria Patrocinio? or Patrocinia? Dimas moved to the United States and lived in Silver City New Mexico where she re-married to a man named Marcos Acevedo. She was the daughter of Santiago Dimas and Maria De la Rosa. Santiago's parents were Macedonio? or Celedonio? Dimas and Petra Ramirez. Maria De la Rosa (whom which I am more interested in) was the daughter of Juan De la Rosa? or just Rosa? and Victoria De Abila. So far that is all I know. I am more interested in Maria De la Rosa and her parents since I want to find my mothers direct maternal lineage. Thank You to anyone who took the time to read my message and decided to help :)

I just listened to a very interesting podcast about the Spanish Inqusition. It goes into detail on the methods of torture used by the church to catch secret Jews and also, it talks about the expulsion of the Sephardic Jews from Spain. Many of these converted and immigrated to the New World, but kept practicing their religion in secret. Several of them populated our target states and are our ancestors.
