record of death for Ana Gabay wife of Lope Ruis de Esparza

Here is a link to the record of death for Ana Gabay, wife of Lope Ruiz de Esparza. The date is already known, there are three Gedcom entries with it, however I could not find a link or reference to the primary source (could be there, I am just not terribly computer savvy)- but happened to come across it through Family Search. Anyway, just in case, here's the link:

Guadalajara Marriage Dispensations / Dispensas Matrimoniales en Guadalajara

Hello fellow members. Due to a system crash, I had the misfortune of losing about a dozen lists of extracted names of Guadalajara Dispensas similar to what I posted here: http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/es/node/19680

After getting over the shock and loss, this weekend I decided to start keeping my notes online via a blog. I think it will be useful to most researchers because the blog also has a custom search bar to make it easier for you to search names or pueblos. I am happy to share with you all here:

www.guadalajaradispensas.com

I have uploaded 10 files so far, and hope to regularly update the blog as time permits. In the meantime, if you have comments, I would appreciate it if you would PRIVATE MESSAGE me, and I will do my best to respond.

I truly hope this is of some help to fellow members here and please do let me know how you think I can improve the site.

Saludos,
-C

death records

Hello All,

I was looking for a bit of direction. In search of more family details I am looking through Los Angeles death records. My great grandmother (born in Mexico died in Los Angeles ca) but cannot seem to locate her death record. I found the date but am looking for the image...however it seems the filed date, date of death, and record dates all differ. Does anyone know whether I should be looking by date of death?? last name?? filed date? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED, THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Mazo

does anyone else have the same set of paternal and maternal multi-GGPs?

Francisco Leonardo Mendoza (b. abt 1730 in Sombrerete, Zacatecas) married Maria Teresa Enriquez (b. abt 1740 in Huejucar, Jalisco) on 07 Jul 1760 in Colotlan, Jalisco.

Leonardo and Teresa are my 4th GGPs through my father Elias de Leon's lineage AND also my 5th GGPs through my mother Maria Del Trancito Carlos.

Magdalena de garibay, Diego Lopez, Diego Garibay, Joana de Solis, Conde de Coruna, Marco Antonio Colonna

Hello

I came across an entry with the names Mariana de Garibay wife of Diego Lopez in documents from Morelia in the latter half of the 1500's. I can see that some members are interested in the Garibays so here is the link:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18784-13381-30?cc=1883388&wc…

And Diego Garibay and Joana de Solis on image 522 of the samme series of images.

I am no expert on colonial Spanish, so I cannot say what the entries are about, especially since this "book" is a collection of various kinds of documents.

The name "Conde de Coruna",the viceroy of New Spain, also turned up, on image 487 in a text signed by Pedro Gutierrez

And on image 486 one can see the signature of Marco Antonio Colonna, on an entry written at least partly in Italian. He was an Italian duke and also a general. No idea what his link is to Mexico...

Introduction:

Hello group,

I am Ed, and my familial research interest is in both Jalisco and Michoacan.
My maternal side is from Jalisco and around the late 19teens the family moved from Arandas to Irapuato. The family is in the 1930 Mexican Census and my aunts and mother actually still live in the house that lists their family in Irapuato. Anyways, the family moved to Irapuato via D.F. with a stopover in Salamanca., settling in Irapuato by the late twenties. My maternal grandfather Teofilo was a baker, born in Atotonilco el Alto (Morales Alvarez) on 9 Jan 1890 (have his birth both church and civil record) died in 1964 in Irapuato. My maternal grandmother Ramona (Patiño Angel) was born in Arandas, Jalisco on 17 Feb 1895 and died in Irapuato in 1988. They had about 15 children and my mother is number 12.
I’ve been pretty lucky with Family Search and have spent a considerable time on that side of the family.

Among the surnames from my grandfather side: Alvarez Flores, Albarez Casillas, Flores Gutierrez, Flores Marquez, Gutierrez Renteria; Morales Perez, Morales Varajas, Morales Munos, Varajas Lopes, Perez Valdivia, Peres Trujillo, Baldibia Lopes, Lopes Sanches; Villalpando, Sanchez, Villalpando, Placencia, Villalpando, Bela, Lopez, Garcia.

Among the surnames for my grandmother side (goes a bit further): Pati~o Lopez, Pati~o De La Torre, De La Torre Gutierrez, De La Torre Venabidez, Gutierrez de Hermosillo, de Hermosillo Mantel, Angel Rizo Lomelin Navarro, Quiroz Velasquez, Sallabedra Zarate, de Cordova Bermudes, Ornelas Angel, Basquez de Padilla, de Sallabedra de Albarado,

Oldest record I have is 1684 birth of Pedro de Sallabedra in Ayo el Chico, Jalisco.

Places: Arandas, Atotonilco el Alto, Jalostotitlan, San Miguel el Alto, San Diego de Alejandria, Ayo el Chico,

The Morales Alvarez Pati~o Angel ancestor report is here:
http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/BiblioRanger

About my user name:

“Biblio” – I am an academic librarian
“Ranger” – I am a former Army Ranger. Served in the 3d Ranger Battalion and 6th Ranger Training Battalion during the 80s.

Look forward to contributing and learning from this site.

Soy nuevo, I am new

Buenas noches a todos,

Me llamo Sergio Salés y nací en el D.F., pero la familia de mi abuela
paterna es de Jalisco hasta donde he podido encontrar alrededor de 1690. A
continuación pongo los datos que tengo en inglés.

Hi,

Mi name is Sergio Salés, and I am researching the following last names in
Jalisco.

*Guzman or de Gusman family: Tecolotlan, Tuxcacuesco, and Autlan 1690s-
1870s*

My ancestors Juan de Gusman (?-1701) and Luisa Gomes (?-1701) had their
last child Juan Antonio de Gusman in Tecolotlan, Jalisco in 1692. I have
not been able to get farther back. Juan Antonio married Maria Antonia de
Zambrano (1702-?) in Tuxcacuesco, Jalisco in 1723. They had Sebastian de
Gusman (c.1736-1796). Sebastian married Maria de Jesus Michel in
Tuxcacuesco in 1779. Their first child was Santos Guzmán (1779-c.1840) who
married Josefa de Amador (1784-1826) in Guadalajara in 1813. They had Jose
Maria Guzmán (1817-after 1875) in Autlan. José Maria married Rosa Araiza
(1822-after 1875) in Autlan in 1837. Jose Maria and Rosa had Pedro Guzman
Araiza. I have not found his baptism but calculate he was born around
1844, since he was 22 in 1866 when he married Maria Paula Melendez in
Autlan. Pedro and Paula had my great-grandmother Maria de Jesus Guzmán
Melendez in Guadalajara in 1879. She married Silverio Reyes López on 22
Oct 1908 in Guadalajara. They had my paternal grandmother María Elena
Reyes Guzmán in 1913 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Mi abuela conoció a mi
abuelo Luis Salés Puigdollers en el D.F. alrededor de 1940.

*Araiza family: Tecolotlan, Jalisco 1690s-Autlan, Jalisco 1870s*

Juan de Arayza y Medina and Maria del Castillo had Christobal (often
spelled Xptoval) de Arayza y Medina around 1680. I have not yet found his
baptism. Christobal married Maria de Gusman (daughter of Juan de Gusman
and Luisa Gomes) in Tecolotlan in 1701. Christobal and Maria had Agustin
de Araiza Gusman in Autlan, but I have not found his baptism. I estimate
he had to be born between 1702 and 1732, since he married Maria Rita de
Puga Gonzalez-Corona in Autlan in 1753. They had Josse Maria Araiza in
around 1765, since he was 23 in 1788 at his engagement to Guadalupe
Nicolasa Moscoso in Autlan. They had Pedro José Araiza in Autlan in
1797. Pedro
José married Maria Juana Nepomucena Lopez-de-Toledo Anguiano in Autlan in
1816. They had Rosa Araiza, who married into the Guzman family.

*Melendez (or Melendres) family: Villa de Purificacion, Jalisco
(1780s-1860s)*

Miguel Francisco Melendres (?-c.1806) and Maria Josefa Dominguez (?-c.1806)
had Joseph Miguel Ylario in Villa de Purificacion in 1786. Jose Miguel
married Maria Lauriana Magallon in Colima, Colima in 1806. They had Jose
Nabor Melendres Magallon in Villa de Purificacion in 1809. Nabor married
Juliana Araiza Quintero sometime before 1833. I have no info on Juliana’s
age. I do know that Juliana’s parents were Miguel Mauricio de Araiza
(?-1836) (Miguel Mauricio is probably related to the Autlan Araizas, but
not proof yet) and Maria Rita Quintero (c.1800-?). Nabor and Juliana had
Maria Paula Melendez Araiza around 1847 in Villa de Purificacion.

*Reyes family: Ahualulco and Tala, Jalisco 1740s-1870s*

Josef Cayetano Reyes (c.1746-?) and Juana Mariana Gonsales married in 1766
in Ahualulco de Mercado, Jalisco. They had Pedro Antonio Reyes in 1776
also in Ahualulco. Pedro Antonio married Maria Gertrudis Delgado in
1796. They
has Josef Tomas Reyes in 1812. Tomas married Secundina Días Nuñes around
1839. Their fourth child was Santiago Reyes Días, who married Gregoria
López Dávalos in 1872 in Ahualulco. They had by great-grandfather Silverio
Reyes López around 1883. Oddly, I have not been able to find much of any
information on Silverio. I know his name and age from his daughter, my
paternal grandmother. I do know he married Maria de Jesus Guzmán Melendez
in Guadalajara Oct 22, 1908. They had my grandmother María de Jesús Reyes
Guzmán in Guadalajara in 1913.

*L**ópez family, Hostotipaquillo, Jalisco 1840s*

This is the family that has been hardest to get any info. I know that
Gregoria López Dávalos was the daughter of Cecilio López and Basilia
Dávalos. Gregoria was born around 1843. I have not been able to find her
baptism or Cecilio and Basilia’s marriage.

The strange turns in family searches

While researching my McNeal side of the family I discovered that both of my parents are distant cousins to Bejaman Harrison.

On my mothers side (Reynoso Hurtado)through Inez Alfons De Ayala (1330-1395) and Don Diego De Toledo (1334 – 1418) and on my fathers side through Sir Walter Mountjoy Blount (1420-1474)and Ellen Byron (1416-1467)

Then it dawned on me and I looked a little harder and indeed my parents are very distant cousins.

Hola Members/Parientes I have a Jose Antonio Munoz Sept. 02,1804 San
Diego de Alejandria(Bautismo-1803-1823-Image # 104) Parents -Estevan
Munoz and Maria Ygnacia Reynoso-Maternal GrandParents -Juan Antonio
Reynoso and Juana Catarina Santa Cruz.
Paternal Grandparents-Luis Munoz ,doesnt state the Paternal Grand
Mother. I am guessing it could be Luis Munoz married to Francisca
Xaviera Gonzalez-Rubio. The reasoning being that Maria Ygnacia
Reynoso has a brother Jose Maria Reynoso married to Maria de
SJ(Josefa) Munoz daughter of Luis Munoz and Francisca Xaviera
Gonzalez-Rubio.No proof just a guess because I have seen a lot of
brothers /sisters marriages. Any Ideas?

Andres de la Torre/Maria Demetria Montes... Tepetongo, Zac Mex

I am working on the line of Andres de la Torre and Maria Demetria Montes from Tepetongo, Zac approx birth dates conflicting.. IF there first son Pedro de la Torre/Maria Petra Vera abt 1700 and 1705 is correct then it would be impossible for Andres and Demetria next children Josefa Refugio Simona born 1783 and Joseph Pedro Celestino born 1788.
Pedro and Maria Petra Vera have 4 children born between 1820-1835 all claiming Andres de la Torre and Maria Demetria Montes as grandparents! I'm praying someone else has figured this out!

In Need of Help.. Any Suggestions Please ...

I have been researching all sides of my family tree, from my Roman side in the Jalisco area to my Perez side from I don't know where. This is where I am in need of assistance. I am stuck stuck stuck. I recently went through one major brick wall which was such a relief, but now I cannot get through this other one. I do not know where to turn. I am trying to figure out where my great grandfather on my mothers side is from. I cannot find a birth record, a death record or a marriage record for him. I have a 1930 Census Record from the US and a WWI Draft Registration Card with his name and birth date and "Mexico" on it, only. His name is Francisco Perez, born July 24, 1885, Mexico. Wife was Nieves Juarez Perez (B: Aug 1899, D:1924).

Any suggestions are appreciated. I use Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.com. FamilySearch has been a gold mine of information for me. But I can't get past this.
Any suggestions to other websites or what to do, or anything I will take!

Thank you all!

Kristine

Ponce of Aguascalientes

Hello Everyone,

I'm still working on my Ponce and Calvillo ancestors from Aguascalientes and I'm currently looking for information on my GGGGGGGGgrandfather Bartolome Ponce who was married to Juana Manuela Lozano de Gardea. I believe they were from Aguascalientes. They would've probably been born sometime between 1700 and 1720. Their son Miguel Ponce married María de Guadalupe de Medina on May 1, 1764 at El Sagrario, Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes. Thank you Austin for helping with that record. The record lists Bartolome and Juana as the parents of Miguel Ponce. The parents listed for María de Guadalupe de Medina are Francisco Javier de Medina and María Francisca Bernales Delgado. The only information I can see that's close to a Juana Manuela Lozano de Gardea was a Juana Lozano sometimes listed as Manuela Lozano that had children with a Bartholome Martel. Any information that anyone might have on Bartolome Ponce, Juana Manuela Lozano de Gardea, Francisco Javier de Medina and María Francisca Bernales Delgado and their families and ancestors is greatly appreciated.

Thanks everybody,

Christopher de Cuéllar
