Need assistance with translation for Castilla y Riojas & Cortinas Marriage Dispensa 1734

This is amazing, over the weekend I had a major break finding a connection to my Great Grandmother Socorro Riojas family. And then today discovered wonderful information while searching further, Claudia Reynoso thanks to your hard work of entering the Marriage Dispensas I was able to locate information on my;
6th Great-Grandfather Juan Ygnacio de Castilla y Riojas B: 1707 Aracena, Spain; married to Antonia Cortinas of Monclova Cahuilla, Mexico. I am not very fluent in Spanish and I am requesting help in the translation of their marriage information.

Baptism Requirements

I have a general question that may have already been answered so I apologize in advance. My question is I heard somewhere that once born, the parents were required to baptize their son or daughter within a certain number of days after birth? Can someone confirm this?

As a second part of my question, I am trying to find my wife's grandfather that was from Tecolotlan, Jal. I do not see his name in any Tecolotlan Jalisco records so I have expanded my search to neighboring municipalities since I discovered his family were cattle herders that made trips to "La Costa" (now my search has really expanded).

If my wife's grandfather was born during one of these cattle herds, and they were instructed to baptize and register by a certain number of days after birth, would they be welcomed to baptismal rights at a church/town they did not belong and were simply passing along?

MIGUEL GUTIERREZ DE HERMOSILLO: Descendents in Los Angeles, CA

Hello primos y primas:

I would like to connect with Southern California descendents of MIGUEL GUTIERREZ DE HERMOSILLO and either of his two wives: (1) Manuela Petrona Gonzalez-Rubio and (2) Gertrudis Romo de Vivar. Miguel was baptized on 07 Jun 1731 in Jalostotitlan. He married his first wife, Manuela Petrona on 05 Aug 1765 in Tepatitlan, and his second wife Gertrudis on 22 May 1781 in Jalostotitlan.

I am only interested in connecting with descendents who migarated to LOS ANGELES, CA and resided there before 1950. If you are a descendent of Don Miguel Gutierrez de Hermosillo, whose family lived in Los Angeles before 1950, please send me a private email. I would love to connect with you.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Juan Barajas y Juana de Olea - Ayo el chico

Hola amigos;

Article on Joel Poinsett trying to push out Spanish from Mexico for access to Mines

I ran across this article on how some person name Joel Poinsett, French or English trying to push out Spanish from Mexico for access to the mines.

My ancestors were the Spanish from the colonial days, we own large acres of property and one of my relatives has a property with a hand dug mine on it.

Fw: De Ysalba

Dear Group,
Since there appears to be members with the surname of de Alba, I thought I'd pose the question again.
Has anyone seen these surnames used interchangably in their research? Or are they distinctly different?
Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you, Alice

I've got marriage entries for Maria de Ysalba with Joseph Feliz de Arrambide 02/20/1724 and 03/19/1720 in Mexico, DF.  Yet I can't find any de Ysalba's anywhere.  Both entries from two different churches in DF couldn't be wrong?   Your help would be greatly appreciated.    Alice Blake

Re: Santa Ana, Loopez-Buezo, Garza, Covarrubias

Thank you all who contributed information on these families. I seem to have the good luck to also be working on these lines, including also Amaya and Rosales, clustered in the area of Tecolotlan, Autlan, and Ejutla in Jalisco. My question is for Marta Haros and the post dated 1/8/2012, in which you listed the son of Antonio Santa Ana and Feliciana Gomez Garcia-Contreras as Antonio: Baptized 24 May, 1723.
Was that in Tecolotlan? I actually have 9 other children for this couple--but can't locate that particular record. The other children I have are: Thomas: 27 March, 1731; Maria Theresa Januaria: 11 Oct, 1728; Francisca Ylaria 9 Feb, 1726; Joseph Maria: 14 Oct, 1718; Augustina 18 Sep 1715; Catarina 13 Dec, 1711; Pedro 12 July, 1713; Maria 15 Jan, 1721, and Cayetano: 21 Sept. 1723
Thank you for your help.

Jose Maria Gonzalez de Hermosillo & Trinidad Montes de Oca

Hi,
Today I decided to reseach the paternal line of a distant cousin and thanks to Familysearch I was able to find records on 11 couples going back up to 5 generations. They all are from the La Laguna region (Coahuila-Durango, just North of Zacatecas). One of the couples is the one of Jose Maria Gonzalez de Hermosillo & Trinidad Montes de Oca, who had several children in Viesca, Coahuila around the 1840's.
According to the book -La hacienda de "La Concha": Una empresa algodonera de La Laguna, 1883-1917- this González de Hermosillo family was from Jalisco and they would carry merchandise from Guadalajara to San Antonio, TX in the early 1800's.
If anybody has any information on the Jalisco branch of this family please let me know. It is the direct paternal line of my cousin.
Best regards,
Victoriano Navarro, Torreón, Coah.

Juan Carrión y María López de Oropeza. Aguascalientes, Pinos e Irapuato.

Melchor Reynoso is probably in the old microfisches of the LDS church, if you can find a Family History Center which still has them.  They are the Catholic parish records, filmed and extracted in the 1950's.  Some of the original parish records are now filmed and online at Wikki.  I'm not sure of the link....

Based on the information Esther provided I figured she got that from the
old familysearch site which still has data submitted by the researcher
Jaime Holcombe Isunza. I searched it and found two records
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/IGI/individual_record.asp?recid=…®ion=10®ionfriendly=Mexico&frompage=99and
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/IGI/individual_record.asp?recid=…®ion=10®ionfriendly=Mexico&frompage=99
Those records were likely submitted by Jaime Holcombe. If you order copies
of the sheets submitted you should see annotations of the source of
information that will include the name of the records such as Bautismo,
Matrimonio, Informaci?n Matrimonial, or Dispensa, the record numbers which
I still haven't figured out, and the year of the record. That way you can
try and hunt down everything Jaime Holcombe had when he submitted the
sheets. You can order copies of the records through mail or go online to
have the microfilm sent to your local family history center.

If anyone can tell me what those numbers in parentheses mean I would
appreciate it. Here is an example for a sheet Jaime submitted for the
family of Tomas Villalobos and Catarina Macias Valadez -

Sagrada Mitra de Guadalajara, Jalisco: Dispensas Matrimoniales (6118) 1749;
(6123) 1734; (6135) 1756;  (6155) 1693; (6485) 1709; ........
Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes: Bautismos (17,062) 1635; 1637;  1641;
1643......Informacion Matrimonial (17,172) 1702..
Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco:  Matrimonios (3670) 1656...........

Melchor Reynoso—need proof of parentage (b. ca. 1695) and marriage (ca. 1724)

Melchor Reynoso (b. ca. 1695) is the earliest documented Reynoso in the line I am researching in Jalostotitlán. I know it is widely assumed that he is the son of Sebastián Reynoso y Renteria and María Francisca Ramires de Hermosillo, who are documented many times over through the baptisms ((Mariana, Manuel, Francisco, and Juan Toribio) and marriages (Mariana, Miguel Geronimo, and Juan Toribio) of several of their children.

Melchor Reynoso married María de San Juan Gonsales Rubio ca. 1724. I have searched, frame-by-frame, the marriages from Jalostotitlán (FHL Film 279295) between 1720 and 1725, but have been unable to locate the marriage. The marriage is proved by statements in the subsequent marriage records of several of their children (Vicente Ceferino, Joseph Antonio, María Manuela, and Anna Francisca), but I have been unable to locate the 1724 marriage of Melchor.

If anyone has proof of either the marriage of Melchor Reynoso and María de San Juan Gonsales Rubio or the birth of Melchor (which should provide the names of his parents), I should be most grateful.

I have been deeply involved in the online Jalisco records at FamilySearch.org for about seven months and have made spectacular progress on many lines. I hope eventually to be able to provide assistance to others whose lines may cross the ones I am researching; but, in the meantime, I am deeply impressed by the level of research and documentation that is being done by members of this forum (to which, I am new).

Thank you, and good hunting,

Guidance

Dear Group,
I'd like to ask your experienced guidance in the research of my Arrambide branch that has apparently hit a brick wall.
Martin Arrambide died 11/16/1762 in Salinas Victoria, NL and his burial entry states he was Europeo.  In my experience with family members that were born in Spain, the entries state he was from los Reinos de Espana/Castilla, or something to that effect.  This led me to research the surname Arrambide a bit.  It's probably Basque and possibly from France.
In Israel Cavazos Garza's, Breve historia de Nuevo Leon, he is briefly mentioned as such:  Ya en 1741, el obispo de Guadalajara, don Juan Gomez de Parada, establecio una escuela formal y nombro como maestro a Martin de Arrambide, encargandole mucho la buena educacion de los ninos.
Does anyone know where to research this type of order or mandate made by the bishop of Guadalajara of that time?  Would this be found in some place other than Diocesis de Guadalajara?  Discovering this would probably yield more information on Martin's origins and possibly his age, either of which would be a great place from which to continue.
Thank you so much for all your help.     Alice Blake

I've put links in the links area of the group from the links area of the
old Yahoo Ranchos group. Please have a look and send me new links to
include in this area. I especially need links for Aguascalientes.
