Arturo I would ordinarily say yes as your work might help someone else, but we are at 80% capacity in the Files area and I want to reserve that for the new members who I am expecting to submit their genealogies in the near future.
thanks for the offer though and if we figure out how to get past this storage problem I'll let you know so you can post this work.

Is there anyone in the group that is just starting off in their
genealogy
Oh wow Emilie,
That is just terrible. But then I make myself wonder what if someone out of
the blue had called me and said this to me before I ever started doing my
geneology thing.
Plus a lot of us are not here legally, you know what I mean? So we just want
to keep a low profile. Of course their could be other reasons as well.
But anyways I will be praying you get a break through.

Yes, Joseph, I too have had, if not hostile, then indifferent and evasive
reactions to my inquiries of distant cousins even here in the US. My sister
still lives in Silicon Valley where we were raised, and she found a second
cousin in the phone book that also lives in San Jose. He admitted being

My sister still lives in Silicon Valley where we were raised, and she found a second cousin in the phone book that also lives in San Jose. He admitted being related (his father and our father were first cousins), but when she asked for a meeting, he kept putting her off saying he didn't know anything about family trees, etc. Our father and his father are long gone. He said his mother might have some pictures. When my sister called the mother, she denied having any pictures or documents (which is hard to believe). My sister has been calling his mother, and she keeps putting off meeting with her. My sister tried calling the cousin again, and he had changed his phone number! Talk about being wary and suspicious!
Since we are female, have no brothers, and my father had no brothers, my sister and I have been looking for male Olague relatives in

Perhaps, the best I may recommend is taking an interpreter, maybe a relative or a friend who speaks spanish, with you. Something that I want to add about the phone calls, well, I don't know if this applies to all ranchos in Jalisco, but I believe that in some small pueblos people may be suspicious about giving information to a stranger on the phone. Joseph, can you tell us if you have had people reluctant or even hostile while asking for their ancestors' info? Yes to both. Some are reluctant and some have been hostile, but those |

Joseph, can you tell us if you have had people reluctant or even hostile while asking for their ancestors' info? The idea of calling people is acceptable, but I would rather go to the pueblo and talk to the posible primos in person. Well that is my opinion based on my own experience. I grew up in Zacoalco and noticed that Jaliscienses (or jalisquillos as we are sometimes called), are at first a little bit suspicious of foreigners but as we get to know them, we are friendly to everyone. Some americans and italians living in the area visit my parents' restaurant every once in a while and even though my dad does not speak any

color=#0000ff size=3> What can be done about those that don't speak the language? I am such a person. It will be difficult to research the family by making calls etc. Even if I visited the parish where my greatgrandfather attended, I wouldn't be able to ask to see burial records, grave records, christenings' etc. PTSIZE="18">Irene Garrett Watson |

Is there anyone in the group that is just starting off in their
genealogy search and feeling kind of lost? Are you not sure how to
proceed? Are you in need of some ideas of where to and what to search?
This group is not only for the advanced and midlevel researcher but also
and especially for the beginner. Remember the only requirements for the
group are to do your own research and submit your genealogy. So being a
beginner and serious fits that description and you need to ask your
questions and get started. There are some very talented people in this
group and if you ask your questions I will learn along with you as they
answer.

Thanks to everyone who entered their information. I think it will
become very benificial to all of us.
What I think is good about the database is that when you open it up,
you are given that "Search This Table" input box. If you type in a
surname or a location, it lists out all the people searching that
surname and or location. A very useful feature, be sure to try it.
The fields in the table are:
Name
Email Address {optional}
Research Surnames {Surnames you are researching.}
Research Location {Cities, Towns, Ranchos that your ancestors are
from.}
My Location {Your current location - optional}
So once you are on the database page you just select the 'Add Record'
link. Enter your information. Then select the 'Add Record' button.
You should then be able to see your record in the table. The edit
link will allow you to modify your record at any time.
That should do it...
Thanks,
Angie
P.S. Isn't it kind of convenient that my record shows up first. I,
