where can i find marriage records for a jose (aka joseph lorenzo )coronado and or maria margarita Segovia? still trying to find parents for them i had managed to find some records regarding their children as follows: balbina theordora maria severiana and or pedro coronado . all children were baptized near Santa Maria DE LA Asuncion, Santa Maria Del Rio, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. oldest child balbina was born 1765 so they had to be married around close to 1760's.

Ésta rama inicia así:

Primera Generación:

El General Juan de Velasco y Barrios, comandante de las flotas de Nueva España Y Tierra Firme en la segunda mitad del siglo XVI. Encargado del traslado de los cargamentos de oro y plata a España.

Segunda Generación:

El Contador Rodrigo de Velasco Tesorero de la Audiencia de Nueva Galicia se casó con Doña María de Cárdenas y se avecindaron en Michoacán.

Tercera Generación:

Don Antonio de Velasco se casó con Doña Isabel de Grijalba, hija de Álvaro de Grijalba II y Catalina Ruiz, a su vez hijo de Álvaro de Grijalba I y Francisca Pérez de Castro originarios de Mérida, Extremadura, España. Don Álvaro II entregó a Don Antonio ciertas tierras en las faldas del Volcán de Colima.

(Es necesario agregar dos circunstancias: que Don Álvaro I y su familia pasaron a Nueva España en el séquito del Virrey Luis de Velasco en 1550 y dicho virrey hizo merced de tierras en favor de Don Álvaro de Grijalba I).

Se avecindaron en la ciudad de Colima y fueron padres de:

Mi hipótesis es que de ésta familia provienen los Velasco de Tamazula que posteriormente entroncan con los Murguía.

Otra hipótesis es que estos Velasco están relacionados con el Virrey Luis de Velasco ya que Don Antonio de Velasco se casa con una nieta de Álvaro de Grijalba, persona cercana al Virrey, aunque la relación familiar no haya sido en línea directa.

I am hoping someone can help me identify/confirm Miguel's parents. I have
not been able to locate records of his marriage to Phelipa Galarza,
daughter of Antonio Galarza and Feliciana Carrillo de Sandi y Lopez de
Rubalcaba. I descend from his daughter, Feliciana Alonso de los Inojos,
baptized 2 Dec 1713 in Teocaltiche, where her sister, Juana Francisca, was
baptized in 1711. Feliciana married Bernardo de la O Contreras in
Teocaltiche on 11 Feb 1733. There are two other siblings, Pedro and Maria,
identified by their later marriage records. I suspect that Miguel is
related to Pedro Alonso de los Inojos and Ana Dominguez of Aguascalientes,
but have never been able to find documentation of a link. Another clue
that makes me think they are related is that the godparents of Juana
Francisca are Xptoval Flores y Maria Dominguez. Can anyone help?:

Leandro Esparza was born 26 February 1882 in Aguascalientes. He was the son of Antonio and Atanacia (Lopez) Esparza. Leandro married Maria Villalobos on 29 April 1916 in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes. Maria was born 10 July 1893. Leandro fathered the following children born in Aguascalientes: Guadalupe V Esparza (1912-2001), Beatriz (1914-2009), Catalina (1916-1992)and the following children born in the United States: Alfred V Esparza (1919-2015), Leopoldo V Esparza (1922-1996), Aurora Esparza (1926-1991).

Siblings of Leandro are:
Atanacia Esparza (1869– ) born Calvillo, Aguascalientes and married Estanislao Tiscareño
Jose Zenon Esparza (1876– ) born in Calvillo, Aguascalientes
Eulagia Esparza (1878–1878) and

Could someone please define the difference between these titles: Empleado particular and Empleado Publico. I have ancestor who appears to be one signing and documenting as "encargado del --- registro civil". Puzzled why the job titles are important to identify perhaps working for the city? Was this person perhaps an important member of society?

Pedro Alonso de los Hinojos married Ana Dominguez 3 May 1620, on Paraje de Las Bocas in San Matias, Pinos. Their padrinos were Hernando Medel and his wife, Maria Perez; testigos were Miguel Diaz and Juan Vasquez. After marrying, they’d live on Las Bocas, eventually relocating to Aguascalientes, some time between May 1633 and Mar 1636.

ORIGINS OF PEDRO ALONSO DE LOS HINOJOS

According to the Limpieza de Sangre required when their son, Nicolas Alonso, took his religious orders, 4 May 1662, Pedro Alonso was son of Diego Alonso de los Hinojos and Leonor Sanchez de Ulloa, of San Luis Potosi, and Ana Dominguez was daughter of Miguel Diaz and Maria Medel, originally from Leon, Gto (and owners of Paraje de Las Bocas, in Sierra de Pinos).

According to Rafael Morales Bocardo, in his “Diccionario...,” Diego Alonso de los Hinojos was a “dueño de recua”: he owned a mule train. He and Leonor Sanchez were also parents of:

- Juan Alonso de los Hinojos, m. Beatriz Lopez del Castillo
- Leonor Sanchez
- Ysabel Sanchez
- Catalina Martin

On 6 May 1616, in SLP, Diego Alonso de los Hinojos agreed to act as guarantor for his son-in-law, Juan Muñiz, for a debt that he owed to Francisca de la Paz, viuda. Juan Muñiz and Ysabel Sanchez baptized Juan, 13 Jul 1616, Sagrario SLP.

When daughter Catalina Martin submitted her Testamento, on 4 Aug 1658, she declared that she was born in Zamora, Michoacan. Catalina Martin married twice: m1. Diego Lopez de Mesa, m2. Fernando Coçetillo.

Juan Alonso de los Hinojos and Beatriz Lopez baptized their first 2 children in Zamora: Madalena, 30 Apr 1610, and Juana, 7 Aug 1613 (agua) & 30 Dec 1613 (pusieron los oleos). The madrina on Dec 30 was Juana Lopez, the child's grandmother, so we know Beatriz Lopez was from Zamora, where she and Juan Alonso likely married.

That said, I have a feeling that this family group originated in Zamora, that Diego Alonso de la Hinojos and Leonor Sanchez probably had their children there, before establishing themselves in San Luis Potosi. So if any of you are researching this line, I'd recommend starting there. That's all I have.

I need help in finding the parents of Jose Manuel Romo de Vivar and Maria (Gertrudis) Loera. I have been researching the line of descent of their daughter Maria Micaela Romo de Vivar. Maria MIchaela was married in 1779 so this places Jose Manuel Romo de Vivar and Maria Loera as being born in the early to mid 1700's. Maria Michaela Romo de Vivar did marry another Romo de Vivar but the marriage record states that a marriage dispensation was not needed. This Romo line eventually leaves the Aguascalientes area and moves to Coahuila.

Hola compañeros, les quiero comentar que hoy avancé en mi genealogía de dos mujeres que no podía encontrar mas datos. Se trata de Antonia y Juana María Castellanos. No encuentro sus actas de matrimonio por lo que tuve que buscar en la Sagrada Mitra e Guadalajara algunas dispensas matrimoniales que me dieran pistas sobre tal. Gracias a dos dispensas matrimoniales pude llegar hasta Pedro de Castellanos y Ana Ramírez de Ortega, vecinos de Zamora.

Lo mas interesante que encontré, además de encontrar esos datos, fue el incluir nuevas familias a mi árbol genealógico, como lo es la familia Flores de Villarroel.

However, there is a marriage for Marcos Marin and Maria Luisa on 5 May 1670 in Aguascalientes. They are indios - his parents given as Diego de la Cruz and Maria Magdalena, hers are Juan Baltasar and Catalina Maria. The interesting part is that her parents are identified as "..servientes en la hacienda de los Tiscareño..."

There is a baptismal certificate for Luisa on 1 December 1653 - born to Juan Baltasar and Maria Catalina. I think that is probably the Luisa from the marriage certificate.

Does anyone know how I can contact the cemetery in cocula Jalisco to locate a headstone? I can't find a birth record for a family member, but i have his death record. His name was Gregorio Antonio Esparza, died on May 2 1806 in Cocula, he was supposedly born in Amatlan de Canas in Nayarit around 1750's. Not exactly sure. Hoping his headstone will have a birthdate and parents names so i can continue my search. Or if anyone has tips on how I can get the info. The church record book that should have his info has water damage, So either his entry is on one of the areas that is damaged and cant read or he came from another area.

Hi. I'm stuck and need some help. Looking for birth record for Juan Esteban (or Estevan) Esparza born in Amatalan De Canas around 1767. His Father is Gregorio Antonia Esparza mother is Marian Lopez de Aguilar. I have Esteban marriage record to Maria Luciana Preciado in 1791 in cocula jalisco. In it, it says he is 24 so I can assume he was born in 1767. I can't find any other record to confirm age and birth place. He has a brother Joseph Raphael de la cruz Esparza born 1768 born in Amatlan, and a sister Maria Joespha esparza, born 1783 in cocula. I have the brother and sister record, but can't find the one for Juan esteban, even though it should be in the same book.
