Hello forum,

This family is very apart from the Hernández Gamiño family. I found some of them at the beginnings of the XVII century in Zamora.

Lázaro was born on 24 August 1610:

He was the son of Lázaro Hernández and Catalina Jiménez.

The only information I have found on Lázaro Hernández and Catalina Jiménez is the following citation from Mariano González-Leal in "Retoños de España en la Nueva Galicia":

"Don Juan Antonio Maldonado, segun informa don Steven F. Hernández López, casó en Zamora el 3 de octubre de 1622 con doña María Romero Bejines, quien fué sepultada en Zamora el 30 de abril de 1648.
La última fué hija de Lázaro Hernández Bejarano y de Catalina Jiménez Romero Bejines - Abuelos paternos, Alonso Hernández Bejarano y Anna de Estrada ..."

So Lázaro (In the christenig record) and María (Juan Antonio Maldonado's wife) were the children of Lázaro Hernández and Catalina Jiménez and this last Lázaro was the child of Alonso Hernández Bejarano and Anna de Estrada.

Is there any experienced genealogist having some information on Alonso Hernández Bejarano and/or Anna de Estrada?

Coud it be this Alonso Hernández Bejarano the son or the grandson of the Alonso Hernández in the following document. This last Alonso was the son of Diego Hernández Bejarano and Juana Fernández:

Based on "Catálogo de Pasajeros a Indias" (Papeleta No. 4117, libro V, folio 284-v año 1538) this Alonso supposedly travelled to "la Florida".

I was hoping that someone within this community may have some more information on this family pre-1850s.

From my own family (and confirmed through Ancestry.com), I knew about Pedro García and his wife Maria Refugio Aguilera (1816-1901), both from Teocaltiche, Jalisco. Through one of their children's marriage certificates, I found their parents from both sides: Lorenzo García and Agapita de la Paz, and Juan Nepomuceno Aguilera (b.1775) and Maria Rosa Aguilera (b.1790).

I'm not sure if Ancestry.com is lacking in Mexican historical records, or if this time period just gets tricky to find information for. But I have not been able to find anything for Lorenzo García and Agapita de la Paz, except for their grandchild's marriage certificate they are mentioned in. Not a single record...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have found in the PARS Archive a document about the "Pasajero De Indias" of Juan De Angon who traveled to Nuevo Espana (Mexico) in 1606. Here is the reference number to enter to see: CONTRATACION,5295,N.10

The style of writing on that document is hard for me to read but I can make out some of it.

Now, in the LDS Online Catholic Church Records I had seen the Cofradia of Huejuquilla 1633 - 1700. I noticed on one of the pages, year 1633, the author mentions that he visits the "Rancho De Juan De Angon"

I showed the Cofradia archive to a historian in Zacatecas, Mexico and he reviewed it for me and told me that the Rancho De Juan De Angon was converted into a Hacienda but doesn't know the name of it.

My GGGGGGG Grandmother Maria De La Candelaria Angon (1655 - 1735) resided in Minillas, Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico.

I descend from Juan Perez de Frias and Catalina Lopez de Castro. I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding the ascendancy of Catalina Lopez de Castro. I have connected Juan Perez de Frias as the son of Diego Perez de Frias and Elena de Sotomayor.

Also does anyone have access to Diego and Elena's marriage document?

After 2 years of looking for the Alonsos and Gomes who started in early 1700 to marry into the core families of Delgado, Rodriguez, Lopes and Escareno, I finally found Urbano Alonso (2cousin 2x removed) married to my 2nd Great Aunt Maria Guadalupe Lopes and they had a Dispensa. I could not find the dispensa. Then I found he also married the sister of Maria Guadalupe and had another dispensa for 1st with 2nd and 3rd . I was hoping to find where did the Alonsos originate (I did find one as Alonso de los Ynojos married into the Gomes but not in my direct line. While I have Gomes de Sotomayor within this core family, I have not found a connection).

After again searching for Dispensas I found the following in this book of San Luis Potosi

I had read somewhere that there had been heated discussions to San Luis being part of Michoacán and not Guadalajara Obispados. That Salinas was part of Zacatecas and others have said no way. I also found some communication coming from Guadalajara and not Michoacán so it seems there was a change just not sure what.

1st question - The quality is very poor so my first question is “does anybody know of a program that could enhance the pages. I do have the basic editing and did so, but still I can’t read it. I then put the info I did have on the family and came up with the part of the connection that does not really include Alonsos. I am interested what the testigos stated.

2nd question - Is this the Dispensa in a different format for the modern times?

Hello, I am interested in finding more information on Felipe Lopez (b. abt. 1638) and Francisca Gonzalez (b. abt. 1644). I am specifically interested in Francisca as I am a direct descent of hers maternally. Here is a link to their marriage record.

I was able to locate three of their children. Their daughter Gertrudis Lopez (born around 1670) married Pedro Sanchez De Paez on 8 Jun 1688 in Teocaltiche, Jalisco. He was the son of Francisco De La Paz y Cortes (Paez) and Francisca Sanchez De Hermosillo.

Their son Joseph Lopez married twice: to Catharina Cervantes on 8 Jan 1702 in Lagos De Moreno, Jalisco and then to Juliana Macias on 9 Feb 1712 also in Los Lagos.

I also found a daughter named Maria who was born in Oct 1685 in Teocaltiche, Jalisco.

I would appreciate any help as I know that ultimately Francisca's mother, grandmother etc will show indigenous lineage. I would just like to get as far maternally as possible on this line.

Christobal de Parga y Gayoso, contrae matrimonio con Juana Efigenia Gallegos el 16 de mayo de 1728 en Santa María de los Lagos (Juana Efigenia hija de Gabriel Gallegos y Gertrudis Macías) y posteriormente se casa el 6 de noviembre de 1740 en El Sagrario, Aguascalientes con María de la Torre, hija de Joseph de la Torre y Matheana Romo de Viva. Christoval era hijo de Joseph de Parga y Galloso y Luisa de Arteaga.

Por mas que he buscado no encuentro el matrimonio de Joseph de Parga con Luisa de Arteaga o sus ascendentes. ¿Alguien tiene investigado algo acerca de los Parga y Gayoso que me pueda orientar o ayudar?

They are not to be found in the usual list of films for baptisms, deaths, marriages and info matrimoniales for Asuncion de Maria....

If you have found them misfiled with baptisms or somewhere else (sometimes happens), please post the link or the GS film nr...

I am researching my direct lineage thru Manuel de los Santos Ximenes, born around 1722 in Nochistlan/Mexticacan (not sure which for sure). His son, Miguel Antonio Ximenes, was born in Mexticacan, Jalisco, about 1758). If it helps, Miguel's wife was Margarita Clemencia Casillas y Franco de Paredes. They were married 27 May 1779 in Mexticacan.

Manuel's parents were Nicolas Ximenes and Maria Gomes. Manuel's wife was Angela Gertrudis Yniguez (b. ~1725). Manuel and Angela were married in Nochistlan on 24 Feb 1743. Angela's parents were Francisco Yniguez and Angela de Carabajal.

Part of the answer for me involves knowing more about the former Nochistlan. Was it only a town that corresponds to the present day town in Zacatecas, or was it something different in the past? I've not had much success tracking that down.

Hola a todos. I am researching the Batres line in Zacatecas/Aguascalientes. This was my paternal grandfather’s mother’s line. I have only been able to go back to late 1800s using familysearch.org. Does anyone have family information or ideas on how to expand the search in this area? I’m glad to share what I have found so far with anyone out there who may have connections to this family name.

The following couple had plan to marry but they have a 3rd with 4th Consang.
I believe the family tree for Pedro Joseph might be correct but Rosalia's line might lead to Antonia de Ortega known as Estrada married to Diego Contreras see last item. I really don’t know much about them. Hopefully somebody has them in their line as well.

Potrero De Los Lopez is located about 5 miles northeast of Calvillo. I have several relatives from that town.

I was hoping someone might be able to help me find the possible parents of
Melchora de Ornelas and Nicolas Lopez who had a natural born child around
1717, probably in Aguascalientes. Melchora de Ornelas would've been born
probably between 1690 - 1700 and Nicolas Lopez would've probably been born
around the same time in a place called el Puesto del Potrero de los Lopez.
The only information I have comes from their daughter's informacion
matrimonial in 1740 where it says she's 23 years old and describes her as:

Maria Theresa Lopez, española, originaria del Puesto del Potrero de los
Lopez, jurisdicción de la villa de Aguascalientes y vecina de esta
feligresía en el Puesto del Mesquite de cinco años a este parte, hija
natural de Nicolas Lopez, ya difunto, y de Melchora de Ornelas...

That's the only information I know. If anyone knows of a Melchora de
Ornelas in the same time frame of 1700 or earlier or a Nicolas Lopez also
born around the same time please let me know. Also, if someone knows of a
Lopez family from el Puesto del Potrero de los Lopez please let me know.

I would like opinions about who is the mother of Maria Luna, wife of Eusebio Martin Lara. When I encountered this marriage certificate before, I assumed that the name of the mother was incorrect and that the parents were really Jose Luna and Maria de la Cruz. These parents had 11 children that I am aware of, beginning with Silberio (prob. about 1713) and ending with Maria de las Niebes (August 1731). But now that I run into her again (different line), I am not so sure. There was also a couple Jose de la Cruz and Juana de la Cruz. I am finding these 2 from death certificates. I cannot find a marriage for either couple. And I cannot locate any children from the second couple.

So I am really just looking for opinions. Is the mother's name incorrect on the marriage certificate? Or does Jose de Luna become Jose de la Cruz?

Im trying to see if anyone here in Nuestros Ranchos has any information on my Escamilla line.. Im looking for information on Juan Joseph Perea de Escamilla and Sebastiana Hurtado de Mendoza from Celaya, Guanajuato i found multiple baptism records for their children, but can't find a marriage record for them. I think i found information on Sebastiana since she used Aguilar in some of the baptism records she could be the daughter of Ysidro Hurtado de Mendoza from Zacatecas and Thomasa de Aguilar Ramos.

Heres the Baptism record for my 9th ggf Angel Laureano Escamilla looks like he moved to Ciudad, Guzman Jalisco around 1759 after the death of his first wife remarried my 9th ggm Maria Antonia (V)Miramontes de la Cadena from Teocaltiche, Jalisco, daughter of Juan Antonio de Viramontes and Efigenia de la Cadena.

Im wondering if anyone here has information on those lines. I have read some information on the Viramontes from Zacatescas, but cant seem to connect them to mine.

Does anyone else have text display errors when receiving emails that contain letters with accent marks? I notice that words like “María” show up in my email as “Mar?a” or some other incorrect character. (I hope mine shows up on the list as Maria with the letter “i” accented - if it doesn’t, then it’s just the error preventing it.)

I’m using Mail.app in MacOS Sierra 10.12.6. Is it a function of some character encoding that I need to adjust? It’s very annoying having to read Spanish with all the diacriticals replaced by random characters.
