Can anyone trace the Marquez brothers (Francisco and Juan) who were with Cortes during the the conquest of Mexico in the 1520s to the families in Jalisco ?

is there a way or film number for military records and wills and testaments for Zacatecas?
I have not been able to find any.
I've been working on sagrada mitras during the 1800 to 1819 years and lots of men in the military getting married.

Hi Daniel. Jose Ricardo de Jesus Ortiz was christened the same year Maria
Justa de Jesus Maldonado was christened (1834). Both families were living in
the same place: "Arroyo Seco de Arriba". The parents of Jose Ricardo are
*Jose Francisco Ortiz* and *Maria Juana Gonzalez*. So Jose Ricardo is the
brother of Maria Francisca Ortiz. Their 4 grandparents are listed in the
christening record of Jose Ricardo:

and Maria Nieves Nava. Maria Juana Gonzalez had a sister named Maria Luisa.

Hi all. I need a little help. I am looking for a bautismo for Maria Francisca Ortiz (aka Franca). Her children’s bautismo indicate that the maternal grandparents are Franco Ortis and Maria Juana Gonzales. However, I have not found a bautismo for Maria Francisca Ortiz. I want to find out who were her grandparents.

I would greatly appreciate any leads on how to find info on the death of Librada Perez Muñoz, wife of Lamberto de Alba Jimenez. I am quite sure she died in Aguascalientes (have found the grave of Lamberto in Aguascalientes cementary). I am a bit overwhelm by the prospect of looking at whole acres of tombs, they register the tombs by the person that bought the space not by the person buried in it. 
Any Help would be greatly appreciated,

I am a bit perplexed by the search engines, I have tried different spellings and I can see the mothers last name is not used until recently, such that the grave of Lamberto (her husband) only says "de Alba" no mention his mother, Jimenes. Lamberto died in Aguascalientes, so it would natural to think that she died in the same city.

Any leads would be greatly appreciate,

My grandfather's grandfather Rafael De Anda who died in Oct. 30, 1867 in Encarnacion de Diaz, Jalisco was listed as an Alvitrista/Albitrista on his death record. I have not found what that job or profession actually is. Any help would be appreciated

I am looking for 2 baptismal certificates for children on Roman Torres and Secundina Monreal. The family wound up in Aguascalientes, but these 2 certificates are from Cedral, San Luis Potosi. The first one is for Simona Florencia from 23 February 1860 and the second for Herculano from 14 November 1861. The FamilySearch index says they are both in film 707644, which is not for those years. Nevertheless, I just looked at every page of that book. No luck. Book 707644 is truly for the years is says it is for.
So, if anyone is looking for something to do today - HELP!

I have looked through all the films with dispensas matrimoniales of the Diocese of Guadalajara for the year 1875 and I have not been able to find it.

I have also looked in the “informacion matrimonial” for Zapotlanejo for the year 1875 and I could not find any details about their marriage there either.

Does anyone by chance have a suggestion/idea about where else I could look for this dispensa?

Specifically, I am interested in the marriage entry for Jose Ramos (Yndio) and Maria Patricia (Yndia).

I am aware Jose's parents are Sevastian Ramos (please verify that the abbreviation in the image is for Sevastian) and Nicolasa Juana. However, I have no idea what the rancho is supposed to be that comes after his name. If someone could decipher it, I would appreciate it, and if someone knew where it was (at least in relation to Sayula so I can do further research) I would appreciate it.

As for his wife, I have figured out her name and her parents' names but I would also appreciate the help with regards to her geographic origination.

I can read Spanish well, so if you can help in Spanish or English I would appreciate it.

I found some ancestors identified as Criollos, Indio Criollos and Mestizos Criollos. Can someone please tell me if Criollo was a Spaniard born in the colones, why say Indio or Mestizo? Some are just Criollos, does this mean they were Espanoles?
Appreciate any explanation from this group to help me understand.

Lorenso De Miramontes and Maria De Santiago had a son, Ysidro De Miramontes who married Bernarda De Avila 21 Jan 1709. Brigida De Miramontes who married Rafael Pinto De Avila 23 Jan 1735 was the padrina. This is my Avila connection to the Miramontes family and I wonder if anyone can provide information or assist me. de Bobadilla (Gerhard, 1993: 149; Hillerkuss, 1994: 477).

*BOBADILLA*, Francisco de

Mestizo. Hijo de María Bobadilla y de su legítimo marido, Pedro de
Bobadilla; recibió la encomienda de su padre, el pueblo de *Tepechitlán*, el
1º de enero de 1542, según una real cédula firmada por Cristóbal de Oñate.
Junto con sus padres y con su hermana, vecino fundador de la cuarta y
definitiva *Guadalajara* en febrero de 1542. Murió aparentemente poco
después de 1545; la encomienda pasó a su hermana. Esta encomienda contaba en
1569, con 500 indios tributarios (Benítez, 1991: 92 y 114; Diego Fernández
Sotelo, 1994: 288 y 299; Gerhard, 1993: 149; Icaza, 1969: Nº 1167; Páez
Brotchie, 1991b: 199).

Originario de *Extremadura*. Vino a *América* hacia 1515, donde se instaló
en la isla de *Santo Domingo*. Conquistador de *Jamaica* y de algunas
provincias de la *Nueva España*. Soldado en el ejército de Nuño Beltrán de
Guzmán, en 1529, para la conquista de la *Nueva Galicia*. Casó con una mujer
indígena llamada María que tomó el apellido de su marido. En 1534 tenía una
encomienda en la provincia de *Culiacán*. Diego Hernández de Proaño, el
alcalde mayor de la provincia, y Bobadilla abusaron de su licencia de hacer

los *Zacatecas* en julio de 1557. Fiador de los herederos de Francisco
Preciado, vecino de *Colima*, en 1560 o ya antes, durante el proceso que
tenían con el acreedor Francisco de Cepeda. Radicaba como vecino en *Colima*,
junto con su esposa Francisca Ruiz de Monjaraz, hija de Martín Ruiz de
Monjaraz, El Viejo. El 14 de julio de 1563 en el pueblo de *Tuspa*,
Francisco de Cepeda le otorgó un poder cumplido para defender en la villa de
*Colima*, sus intereses en el pleito que tenía con Pedro de Granada, tutor y
curador de los menores, hijos de Francisco Preciado, por unas huertas de
cacao en la provincia de *Motines*, que Cepeda y Alonso Sánchez de Toledo
habían adquirido de Preciado. El día siguiente se presentó como procurador
de Cepeda en la villa de *Colima*. Alcalde ordinario de la villa de
*Colima*en 1564. En noviembre de 1565, se le describió como hombre que
entendía
negocios comerciales y legales. El 2 de marzo de 1566 en la villa de *Colima
*, compró en pública almoneda por 110 pesos, las casas de Doña Elvira
Lorenzo, viuda y heredera de Domingo López. En compañía con Andrés de
Segura, Pedro López de Herrera y Bernardino Cola, todos vecinos de la villa
de *Colima*, firmó una carta de obligación en favor de Gaspar Moreno,
mercader y vecino de la *ciudad de México*. En verano de 1566, Gaspar
Moreno, por no haber recibido pago ninguno, mediante su hermano Baltasar
Moreno, dejó hacer ejecución en sus bienes. Cuando en octubre de este mismo
año, Alonso Sánchez de Figueroa, alcalde mayor de la provincia de *Colima*,
le visitó en su casa y le requirió a pagar la deuda compartida, Bobadilla le
contestó que no tenía con qué pagar. Fue tomado preso, pero atento que
estaba enfermo, se le asignó su casa por prisión. La deuda fue ejecutada en
algunos bienes, sobre todo en una huerta de cacao, en una silla de jinete y
ropa. Lo mismo se hizo con los otros deudores. El 17 de noviembre de 1568 en
la villa de *Colima*, durante el remate de los tributos de *Chiametla* y *
Tlacatipa*, compró 8 mantas y 2 piernas, por 3 pesos cada manta. Aún vivía
como vecino en la villa de *Colima* en febrero de 1574, y estaba litigando
como cesionario de Gonzalo de Cáceres, ante el alcalde mayor de *Colima* y
ante la *Aud.** de México*, por 1,500 pesos de oro común que le debía Pedro
de Arévalo, difunto (Benítez, 1991: 92 y 114; Diego Fernández Sotelo, 1994:
139; Romero de Solís, 1995: 103, 121, 137s, 145, 147, 157, 166, 197s, 202,
216, 222s, 236s, 243 y 416s).

While I believe I found Bacilia’s grandparents, I would really appreciate others opinions. Thanks

One of the testigos Santiago Dias de 66 Anos Espanol de Oficio Lavrador (¿) de Azogueros. He goes on to give testimony and ends that because he has a relationship that of grandfather (es nieta) does not stop me from telling the truth.
Because I know that his wife is Michaela Gomes, I was able to locate a record of them I had created some time ago. They were parents to Pedro Antonio Dias de Leon (don’t know where the de Leon came from). Which led me to their marriage record that has only his name as Joseph Santiago de Padres no Conocidos and later the dias de leon appears though the first had Santiago, and Antonia had Dias.

This is the carta de dote of my g8, Alfonsina de la Paz, who married Pedro de Guzman, 11 Feb 1629, in Guadalajara, Jal. FINALLY! A clue to her origins! But…the ink has bled through and makes the document difficult to read, and I’m unable to pull the names of her parents. They appear on lines 7 & 8, before “ya difuntos.” I have an idea of what her father’s name is, but I’d like for others to take a look, and get your take. Any assistance would be appreciated!

I been trying to figure out who the parents of Nicolas de Escamilla and Micaela de Lomelin are. their son Juan Manuel Escamilla was baptized 4 July 1711 in Jalostotilan Padrinos Carlos Francisco de Vallarta y Juana de Lomelin. Nicolas became a window a few years after, married Manuela de Alfaro sometime between 1711 and 1714 family moved to Ayo el Chico. Juan Manuel Escamilla married Juana Quiteria de Alfaro Perez Oct 1727 in Ayo el Chico. Looks like the record for Jalos don't back further than 1698. I tried to look for Micaelas death record see if i could find another clue, but just to my luck the record from 1711-1714 dont exist. Does anyone know where i could find more information for the record of Jalos before 1700s, or does anyone know have more information on the Escamilla families from Los Altos.
