Muchas Gracias.

Hi evreyone, I'm looking for people with Martinez ancestry in the Mexican state of Zacatecas in or around the town of Tepetongo. I'm interested in obtaining more information on my direct paternal ancestry. If you are interested in sharing some information, I can always send you my small (only seven generations) genealogical chart.
Also, I have my YDNA (Haplogruop R with 91 certified SRT markers)for the same name.
Thanks.

This is giving me difficulty reading the abuelos Maternos names.

Florentino interchangeable with Florencio SERNA ? CALVILLO, AGS.

While resarching my line I have come to an ancester GGGGG FLORENCIO Y ANTONIA RUIS. Their son GABRIEL SERNA (died between 1832 - 1853 prosibly in Calvillo or Villa del Refugio,ZAC. ) y CATARINA FRAUSTO. Should I concieder the two names interchangeable what would be another option for the name Catarina ? Since I am at a wall on these individuals I need to concider search options.

look up

Hello,
It's there someone who has the film M600825 from Fresnillo?
I need to get a look up on the marriage of Juan de la Rosa + Narcisa Acosta. Marriage date 28/10/1872.

Another question,
Her daughter Ines de la Rosa was born in Fresnillo around 1885, is there a parish record i can look for? so far I have't found anything for Fresnillo...did they go somewhere near to get their childs baptised?

Thank you
Monica

I would also like to know how to get a copy of this book.

Hi Jospeh,

My Marquez de los Olivos are also from Saus de los Marquez.  They also eventually shortened the name to just Marquez. I remember a while back we tried to link your Marquez family to my Marquez family but had no luck.  I imagine if you are able to go back a generation or two we will have the link.

Good Luck on you Search,

Documenting Your Records

I will probably suggest this a thousand times to "the group", make sure to document where you get your information from. Here is an example:
Repository, Record type, Individual, Date, Film No., Item No., Volume No., Page No., Record No. (all this information might not be available e.g. missing page number, missing volume number, etc.)

I am the first to admit I have not always done this and occasionally, even now I forget to do it. One thing that I have learned is that it wastes a lot of time and money not to do it.

If this does not work for you, then find something that does, it will make your research more credible and allow others to locate the records easily. Sorry I sound like a nag and will probably alienate some good people but it will help all of us to become better researchers if we source our documents and save us time.

If anyone has some good suggestions on documentation or good stories even, I would love to hear about them. Anything that improves the way I do things is much appreciated. Thank you for your time, and letting this old guy rant a little; I hope it helps.

On LDS

I am looking for Deciderio Tinajero from San Felipe Guanajuato Mexico .....When I enter his hame....he does come up but his son (Jose Marciano Tianjero Alonso) also comes up and it gives me the son's info not Deciderio. I need Deciderio's info like his parents name. How can I pull that on LDS on

I'm lookin under Mexico Baptisms 1700-1900.

Mac software

I've been using Reunion for years and find it very easy to use.
Entries are easy and lookups are easy. It's much better than Family
Tree Maker was before they stopped supporting Macintosh. I've
upgraded twice and had no problems with information transferring to
the new versions. I haven't used the other Mac program you mentioned
so I cannot comment on it.

As with everything computer related, there is a learning curve. I
found Reunion's learning curve intuitive and quick. I'm 67 and have
little patience with complicated programs and dump them rather than
waste my time trying to learn them. I found Reunion within my scope
of ability and am happy with it.

Good luck with whichever program you decide to go with. You'll
probably choose the one you learn the fastest. I would.

BUSQUEDA COMO LE HAGO--Daniel

Hello Daniel,

The instructions on the form state that you should allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. (I got mine in less than a month.) Also you need to limit your request to 8 items or 3 book items, and requests should be made at least 2 weeks apart. Requests are processed in the order they are received. There are more instructions on the form that you need to read, such as copyright restrictions. Also, you can get the forms for free at any FHC.

Have a nice day. :-) -Esther

Hi Esther,

I am hoping to start ordering some records through this service. How long does
it take?

Im still continuing my genealogy and have these dates where I am able to extend
my

tree but i am not ready to stasrt certain areas. I thought I can at least keep
extending

through this service I have around 17 marriages I am able to order and at least
go one more

generation thanks to IGI. But its pointless to order the whole film since Im
not going to

look through the whole thing yet. Im still researching Calvillo, Tlazazalca and
Zamora.

Hoping to start soon on Aguascalientes and Pinos, Zac. I have many states:

Chihuahua, Jalisco, Zac, Aguas, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi, Michoacan,
Durango,

COlima, DF, Queretaro, Nuevo Leon. Im busy. Plus Portugal and Spain.

Thanks, Daniel

Does anyone have a copy of the actual christening record for Miguel Gregorio

Padre Miguel Hidalgo grandparents

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Dear Sylvia--

I would be glad to help as soon as I return from a business trip to San Jose.

I have not worked on the GALLAGA line in awhile so there are probably new things to learn for me as well.  My husband is a second cousin to Padre Miguel Hidalgo, about 6 or 7 generations back.  The following will show different family members moving around quite a bit and the reason for my husband's family connection is probably because of his La Barca, Jalisco ancestors.

Juan de San Pedro GALLAGA Mandarte born 4 Feb 1703 in La Barca, Jalisco

m.

Joaquina de VILLASENOR y Lomelin Cortes Enriques de Silva born in
Santa Maria, Huanequero, Michoacan

their daughter--

Ana Maria GALLAGA Mandarte b. in 1731 in Michoacan

m. 17 Aug 1750 in Penjamo, Guanajuato to

Cristobal HIDALGO y Costilla

their second child, a son,--

Miguel Gregorio Antonio HIDALGO y Costilla
b. 8 May 1753 in San Diego del Union, Correlejo, Guanajuato

Sincerely,
Patricia Burton

Looking for a good and free/cheap family history website to share my family history

Hi people,
I'm tired of my old version of Family Tree Maker, and want to take advantage of some free or cheap websites that allow you to create your own page to share your family trees, stories, photos etc. I'd like to be able to share this with my family to have a place to document everything, share with family and hopefully get some of them excited and interested in doing more work. Anybody using or know of a good online program to use? The closest I can find to what I'm looking for is Tribalpages.com. Anyone using that?

Thanks,
Roberto

Villareal & Salas families

Hello everyone, long time without posting a request, but I would like to know if any of you have the Villarreal family. I need some help on this branch: I have Juan Villarreal born abt 1840 in Zacatecas that have not found any information about him, he was married to Dionisia Salas. But I recently got his parents names and I wonder if any of you have information of them, Juan V. parents' are Cayetano Villarreal and Juana Ortiz. And Dionisia Salas parents' are Tiburcio Salas and Juana Ramirez. Any information related would be very appreciated.

Thank you very much to all of you. Best regards.

Teocaltiche visit

My cousin is visiting Teocaltiche this November. He is researching the family surnames: Lopez, Martinez, Reyes; and places: Rancho Lo De Carrera, Villa Hidalgo (Paso De Sotos), Teocaltiche, Lagos de Moreno. He will be looking for marraige, christening, birth and death records. Are there any tips members can offer him? Thank you, L.Newman

Looking for family of Pascuala Valadez, father: Geronimo Valadez, mother: Fortunato Soto

I am looking for any information on Pascuala Valadez. My grandfather, Telesforo Cruz Valadez (born Jan. 5, 1866 in Aguascalientes) had a brother, Geronimo Valadez, born in Oct. 1859 in Aguascalientes. My grandfather came to the U.S. and according to my mother, never saw his brother or parents again. Familysearch shows a baptism in Aguascalientes, Mexico for Pascuala Valadez, born May 17, 1896, baptized May 18, 1896. The grandparents have the same name as my grandfather's parents.

Looking for relatives: Perez, Cervantes, Pulido and Mejia

Hi I am new to this forum and I like it very much as I view the postings, I see that you are all serious about finding about your ancesters too. My father, Martin C. Perez, was born in a town by name, El Molino, in 1914. His Parents were Isabel Perez and his Mother Agustina Cervantes. His mother died giving birth and so my father never knew her, his father died in Santa Rita or Silver City New Mexico when my father was 7 years old. He was brought to Los Angeles to live with an aunt Macedonia, but I never knew her last name. The only known relative that I know of from Zacatecas, was a cousin by name of Bacilio Perez who was last known to live in Kern or San Joaquin counties in California. He attended my fathers funeral in 1964 in Los Angeles, my father was 47 years old and Bacilio was a little older, he attended with his son who's name may also be Bacilio.

I would appreciate any leads to help me with my genealogical search. I look forward to hearing from distant relatives.

Martin Perez

Sauceda, Robles,Rodriguez, Vasquez, Torres, Velasquez, Families

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I am trying to find out more about my ancestors. I know my one of my great grandfather's was Angel Sauceda and I believe he was born in Juchipila, Zacatecas around 1905(he was 25 yrs old in the 1930 census). His wife was Angela Robles Calderon I don't know where she was born, according to the census she must have been born in 1912. They had 3 children together, Antonio Sauceda(my dad's father)born in San Juan De Los Arcos, Jalisco on June 13, 1930, Angel Sauceda and Guadalupe Sauceda also born in San Juan De Los Arcos. I know my great grandfather had another daughter from a previous marriage or relationship Maria Sauceda. My other great grandfather was Carlos Rodriguez Garcia he was born in Ahualulco Del Mercado, Jalisco, his parents were Timoteo Rodriguez and Estefana Garcia. His first wife was Catalina Rubio Vasquez she was born in Teuchitlan, Jalisco, her parents were Andres Vasquez and Clementina Rubio, I believe she died around 1948. They had about 11 children, Ramiro Rodriguez who past away as an infant, Maria De Jesus Rodriguez she past away on July 23, 2005(she was the mother ot the previous Bishop of San Juan De Los Lagos, currently the Bishop of Morelia, Michuacan). There was also Petronila Rodriguez who passed away in October 2002, Miguel Rodriguez died on 1/13/80, Ildelisa Rodriguez, Timoteo Rodriguez died 4/1/04, Esperanza Rodriguez passed away as a child, Feliciana Rodriguez died 2/8/97, Maria Magdalena Rodriguez(my dad's mother) born 6/5/1936 in Castro Urdiales, Jalisco, Ramiro Rodriguez died 2/5/00 and I believe there was also a little boy named Carlos Rodriguez who also died young. My Grandparents Antonio Sauceda & Maria Magdalena Rodriguez had a civil marriage ceremony on 6/13/52 in Tala, Jalisco and a church wedding on 7/12/52. They had 7 Children. Teresa Sauceda died as an infant/child, Raul Sauceda(my father) born 10/2/54 in San Juan De Los Arcos, Carlos Sauceda passed away as an infant, Carlos Sauceda, Angel Sauceda, Maricela Garcia, Sandra Luz Sauceda all from San Juan De Los Arcos.
I don't have a lot of information on my mothers side. My Grandfather's name is Marcelino Torres, his father is Tranquilino Torres his currently about 103 yrs old they both reside in La Capilla De Guadalupe, Jalisco. My Grandmother was Martha Velazquez, I think she was from El Cerro Gordo, Jalisco. She passed away on 8/28/98. They had 8 children together. A set of twins that passed away, another boy that passed away, Evangelina Torres(my mother) born 3/12/57 in La Capilla, passeda away 1/20/09 in Soquel, CA., Martha Catalina Torres, Pepe Torres(I think his name is Jose Luis), Carmen or Carmela Torres, Ana Filomena Torres all from La Capilla.
If anybody has any more information on my ancestors or are related to me in some way I would love to hear from you.

Evelyn,
Montoro was one of the oldest haciendas in Aguascalientes. Around the turn of the century is was owned by my great-grandfather Urbano Santoyo. After his untimely death due to some ailment complications (hepatatis?), the property was seized by the Banco Nacional de Mexico, as documents show that several loans and mortgages became delinquent, and my greatgrandmother did not know how to handle business affairs.
