Pinos, Zacatecas.

I was researching Arch de la Parr. de Pinos, Zacatecas 1790-1803, listed as Castas....
The last entry for bapts. is 18 apr 1798...then it starts 11 Feb 1793 with marriages. I did not check to see how many years. I am sure some people have not been able to find their ancestors. Hope this helps.
I did not know where to put this information.

Delgadillo

This is boring for most members but I have not been able to decipher most of the information in the following that is discouraging at first because images of torn and faded pages make it extremely useless to continue perusing, BUT subsequent images are more readable and I would greatly appreciate any comments on the actions taken by the church in this matter:

There is an entry for my maternal GGGG grandfather Ignacio Delgadillo in the following location:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18410-4495-8?cc=1874591&wc=1…

which begins on image 164 with a couple torn/pasted pages and continues to image 174 on the left page. I understand there was an issue with infidelity and separation of several years but cannot read enough to understand what other details are in the doument or final disposition. Also, cannot find names of other persons in the document that would give any information or clues to other famdily members. I saw the term 'desavenencia' toward the end but not sure if the marriage was dissolved. If anyone has the time to look at this, any light on the issue is greatly appreciated, and any insight on where to continue searching for more information on these ancestors of mine. If you think I should drop the subject altogether, please do not hesitate to relay that message. Thanks in advance!

Covarrubias de Tecolotlan/Juchitlan

Juan Angel Covarrubias son of Juan Covarrubias and Rosa Cobian married Maria Rosa Santana daughter of Pio Santana and Maria Castillo on February 6, 1773 in Tecolotlan, Jalisco. My ultimate goal is to trace them back to Spain but for now I would like to find their birth place. The only document I can find for them is their marriage certificate and I would like help deciphering it because it is so difficult to read. I think is says Juan Angel is "Esp. de España" but it hard to read.

Here is their marriage record: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18715-11863-42?cc=1874591&wc…

Their entry is the second entry after 1773 on the left page. It is of course the lightest entry on the page. This is what I was able to decipher. If you read something different please let me know.

At the margin - Juan Angel Rosa Maria españoles de este pueblo
En 6 de febrero de 1773: se casaron y velaron enfacie ecclesite Juan Covarrubias esp de españa hijo de Juan Covarrubias y Rosa Cobian=Rosa Santana esp de este hija de Pio de Santana y Maria Castillo…then the same religious wording that all the other records have.

Help reading names

Hi everyone,

I'm so excited because I found my great great grandmother's baptismal certificate, now we move into Huejucar, Jalisco, when just about everyone else was from Zacatecas.

This is her baptismal certificate (bottom left side):
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18455-33928-21?cc=1874591&wc…

Parents:
Toribio Galvan
Margarita Marquez

Paternal grandparents:
Leon Galvan
Leonides ??

Maternal grandparents:
Antonio Marquez
Nasaria Villegas

However, her parents' marriage record looks to have different names (upper right).
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18688-39540-92?cc=1874591&wc…

Paternal grandparents:
Leon Galvan
Leonora ??

Maternal grandparents:
Antonio Marquez
Nasaria Flores??

Also, this appears to be Toribio's second marriage, he's a widower of Anacleta Sandoval?? Are the people at bottom the padrinos and witnesses?

Thanks!
Laura

Angela Lucia Vidro AKA Andrade, Lopez

The new Matrimonial Dispensations posted today #168133, Image 398,

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18416-25472-12?cc=1874591&wc…

lists the parents of Alejo Rafael Pelayo as: Miguel Pelayo (AKA Miguel Cayetano Pelayo) and Angela Lucia Vidro. It also gives the Tree, I'm assuming Lopez family, for the father of the bride, Nicolas Lopez and Angela Lucia--I've seen several other trees from our group with Angela Lucia being the deadend. Now it looks like this may be a clue.

It lists her mother as Francisca, grandmother as Lucia Lopez, and GGrand as Antonio. I did locate a baptism for Lucia Lopez (28 December, 1670 in Tuxcacuesco, but no Lazaro Lopez with the same parents. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated--this carrot is a bit frustrating!

Deedra Corona

GRACIAS.

Ana Macias Valadez esposa de Miguel Romo de Vivar Villalobos

Hello,

I am looking for the ancestors of Ana Macias Valadez. She married Miguel Romo de Vivar Villalobos on 28 February 1725 in Aguascalientes according to a form submitted by an LDS member batch 7411353 sheet 50 source call number 0935401. http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/IGI/individual_record.asp?recid=…
I can't find the record in the online images. Since Miguel Romo de Vivar Villalobos is a great grandson of Catarina Macias Valadez there could've been a dispensation for the marriage. Does anyone have information on her?

Thanks in advance

Armando

Does anyone know where mid 1800's Agostadero, Aguascalientes nacimientos or baptisms would be found?  Are they included with Asientos?  Thanks so much for your help.   Alice

Baptism of my Great Great Granfather and cartoon as to what I imagine he looked like

I have this copy of the Baptism of my great great granfather name "Patrico Madera" who was borin in Rancho Ximulco of Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico and baptised in the Parroquia of San Diego de Alcala Church. I attached with it a cartoon as to what I imagine my great great grandfather looked like with the style of clothing worn back then (That is how I would dress). He has facial features of some of my present relatives and even me:

http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/7546/patriciomaderaximulcohu.jpg

My great great grandfather Patricio Madera is the son of Juan Venancio Madera, "Espanol" of Rancho De Los Maderas - one of the several Ranchos in the vicinity of the pueblo of Huejuquilla. Juan was born around 1764 in Rancho De Los Maderas of Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico and is the son of Francisco Madera of Rancho De Los Maderas.

Patrico had a son name Calixto Madera De La Paz who is my great grandfather.
From what I was told from a distant cousin that also likes geneology research, that our great great grandfather Patricio Madera wore a colonial triangular shaped hat. I don't know what the term is used for that type of hat. Do any of you know?

Leonardo Romo, Manuel Romo, Raphael Romo

Hello

Desperately seeking the marriage record (image) of

Leonardo Romo and Josefa Trinidad.

They are padrinos for a child of Manuel Romo and Maria Ygnacia Rodriguez, and I would very much like to see who the parents of Leonardo are.
Family search gives their marriage as follows:

04 Feb 1824
Nuestra Senora De La Victoria,Nadadores,Coahuila,Mexico
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JZJB-ZQB

But when I go to the book for marriages at that place and time, the entry is not there:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-267-11594-41481-92?cc=1410092&…

Am I looking in the wrong place? The film number is 222404, but the first image of this series of records does not provide the image...

Any good advice?

There are lots of Raphael Romos in and around Aguascalientes, and I am still trying to find out which one was the father of Manuel Romo, resident of Nadadores/San Buenaventura, but originally from Aguascalientes, he was my direct ancestor. Finding out info about Leonardo may help....there were several with that name in Family Search, so I really need to see the image!

Regards,
Denise

History of Zacatecas

Does anyone know of any good books about the history of Zacatecas, either English or Spanish, but English preferred. I came across "The North Frontier of New Spain" by Peter Gerhard, but it's out of print and very expensive. I'm particularly interested in reading about families of Zacatecas.

Thanks,

Diego Gomez & Mensia Ruiz de Velasco

There is a marriage entry for a Diego de Estrada who married Anttonia Velasco on 20 Oct 1692 in Tepatitlán de Morelos, Jalisco, México.

Diego de Estrada's parents are not listed on this entry.

Anttonia Velasco's parents are listed as Diego Gomez and Mensia Velasco de Espexo.

So is Diego Gomez (de Espejo) & Mensia Ruiz de Velasco the same couple?

The seem to be the same couple; all the dates coincide; similar names; about the right age.

Can anyone help with this?

Also, if someone has info on Diego de Estrada I would greatly appreciate it. He is on my paternal line and I've hit a dead end on this one.

You can see the document on my profile page. Any translation of the document would also be helpful.

Thx,
Joe Rubio
