No se casaron sino hasta el 19 de febrero de 1632. Pero lo interesante es que en esta parte ponen como testigo a Juan de Miramontes, Geronimo Lopez de Talavera, Hernando de Haro, Lope Alvarez, Favian de Espinoza, Tomas Gonzalez,Gabriel Gonzalez y a Francisco Sanchez Castellanos. Este ultimo creo que vino como testigo de Antonio de Rivera, ya que los Sanchez Castellanos procedian originalmente de Jerez y fue probablemente hermano de Juan Sanchez Castellanos esposo de Tonasina de Haro.

Sabe alguien donde se puede encontrar esta dispensa matrimonial de 1631?

Today while driving home from work, I was listening to NPR specifically to the California Report about a just published study in a science journal about the DNA findings of the Denisovens. To those of you who might be more experienced in DNA, this might be old news, but for me, this is new news. I came home straight to my computer to search for articles about our ancient ancestors, the Denisovens.

Does anyone know if there are any records for Piedras Negras Aguascalientes after 1902?. My grandmother was born in 1906 in Piedras Negras. I was hoping to find something that would lead me to my great grandmother's parents as we know very little about them. Thanks.

Iv'e been trying to look for these two individuals baptism records or marriage records but nothing.The only info that i have on them is the following Sebastian Munoz from La Jabonera Nochistlan Zacatecas age 55 estimated birth year 1875.Maria Sostenes Aguirre resident of La Jabonera Nochistlan Zacatecas age 45 estimated birth year 1885.I got this info from the census down below

I just got my MtDNA results from FamilyTreeDNA.

I am haplogroup C, which supposedly "is found in eastern Eurasia and throughout the Americas. This haplogroup was present in the populations that initially colonized the pre-Columbian Americas, and dates to at least 40,000 years ago. Future work will resolve the issue of how many distinct colonization events there were in the original peopling of the Americas, and the role of individuals bearing haplogroup C." (Description used without written permission).

Eastern Eurasia. No wonder people from there mistake me for Filipino or Thai. This happens frequently. I do have an Asian cast to my eyes.

They also sent a map showing the migration of haplogroup C from eastern Africa across Asia, over the Bering Straight, down Alaska and Canada, and then to North, Central and South America.

Maybe when I go to Arizona, and they ask for my papers, I can show them this to prove I didn't hop the fence yesterday, and ask them to show me theirs. Forty thousand years! I guess I am as "American" as anybody can get. I knew I was Native American--all I have to do is look in the mirror---and my mother's people-- the Piro-Manso-Tewa- have been in some pueblos in New Mexico that have been continually occupied for over a thousand years, but they have really been there 40,000 years? How do they figure that? Wow!

They also sent a graph of "HVR1 Differences from rCRS" (mutations?): 1609C, 16176T, 1628T, 1629C, 16325C, 16327T, and 16519C. I also clicked on "Show All Positions" and I got a very long string of the same thing, but the letters included were A, T, C, and G. Are those haplogroups? What are they?

I am not a total dummy, but this DNA stuff has me in a tizzy. What are mutations? What are the differences? Should I care? I tried looking at their tutorials, but I ended up feeling like an imbecile, not understanding a thing. Their website also is very difficult to maneuver. I couldn't find my results until I clicked on dozens of titles.

They also sent a list of "matches". Some have Anglo surnames, but their "most distant known female ancestor" are all from New Mexico. The surnames of these ancestors are not in my lines, but they are all common to New Mexico. I guess that just means that no one with my particular surnames submitted their MtDNA.

I would like to get more info on my grandfather--for one what is the correct spelling of his first name. It is difficult to read his name on the first document I found.

Today two sets of indexed films for Queretaro (Church records 1590-1970), 52,259 records, and San Luis Potosi (Civil registration 1859-2000, 1,084 records) were posted on the Family Search website.

In these films the names are linked to the images where the record appears.

This adds to the indexed Distrito Federal Church records posted at the end of July.

Dispensa de cuarto grado de consanguinidad. Rodrigo Sanchez Castellanos, espanol, natural del partido de Tlaltenango y residente en esta cuidad de Guadalajara, hijo legitimo de Manuel Sanchez Castellanos y de Josepha de Rodas, espanoles vecinos de la jurisdiccion de Fresnillo pretende casarse con Dona Juana de Luna espanola hija legitiam de Bartolome de Luna y Dona Lorenza de Haro vecinos del partido de Tlaltenango. Declaracion de Francisco Xavier Mejia espanol de 30 anos de edad vecino del pueblo de Tlaltenango y residente de esta dicha ciudad de Guadalajara. Que Thomasina de Haro y Hernando de Haro difuntos fueron primos hermanos y la dicha Thomasina tuvo por su hijo legitimo a Manuel Sanchez padre legitimo del dicho Rodrigo Sanchez. 2.-Hernando de Haro fue hijo de Juan de Miramontes (el viejo) y de Maria de Haro y Saucedo. Hernando tambien fue hermano de Lorenzo de Miramontes.

3.-◦De acuerdo al censo de 1650 de Tlaltenango dice lo siguiente: La estancia de Lorenzo de Miramontes que habita Ana de Saucedo, su tia, dista de la antecedente (la de Antonio de Castro) tres leguas y media y una legua de su cabecera y tres leguas y media de Tlaltenango. El rancho de Tomasina de Haro se encuentra pegado a la estancia de Lorenzo de Miramontes.

5.- De acuerdo al link http://www.bpej.udg.mx/ra_busc3?id=961 de la Biblioteca publica del estado de Jalisco "Juan Jose Arreola" en pleito de Joseph Sanchez Castellanos de Haro (hijo de Juan Sanchez Castellanos y Tomasina de Haro) contra Alonso Ruiz de Guevara y Ana de Haro "Asunto: Interrogatorio con el que se examinan los testigos presentados por José Sánchez Castellanos en el pleito que los herederos de doña Ana de Aro mantienen con Alonso Mateo Ruíz de Guevara, por la pertenencia de un sitio de ganado mayor y dos caballerías de tierra denominadas San Nicolás y Estancia de las Torres"

Conclusiones:

a)La esposa de Juan de Miramontes (el viejo) fue Maria de Haro y Saucedo y su hijo Hernando de Haro que a su vez fue primo de Tomasina de Haro segun la Dispensa matrimonial de Rodrigo Sanchez Castellanos con Juana de Luna.

b)Segun el censo de 1650 de Tlaltenango ponen a Ana de Saucedo como la que habita la estancia de Lorenzo de Miramontes y la ponen como su tia. Por lo tanto Ana de Saucedo es la hermana de Maria Haro y Saucedo (aka Maria Rodriguez de Haro y Saucedo, aka Maria de Saucedo).

c)Como Tomasina de Haro (aka Tomasina de Saucedo) es prima hermana de Hernando de Haro, entonces Maria de Haro y Saucedo es tia de Tomasina.

d)De acuerdo al censo de 1650 donde Ana de Saucedo y Tomasina de Haro (Saucedo)viven practicamente en el mismo lugar y dado que Tomasina de Haro ha quedado recientemente viuda de Juan Sanchez Castellanos (ab1649) me hace suponer que Ana de Saucedo es la madre de Tomasina ( esta es una suposicion)

e)Segun el link http://jerezzacatecas-salvador.blogspot.mx/2009/07/decendientes-de-pedr… de Salvador Cabral Valdez, ponen a Maria Rodriguez de Haro y Saucedo como hija de Francisco de Bobadilla y Maria O Haro de Saucedo de Llavo entonces Tomasina de Haro es nieta de Francisco de Bobadilla y bisnieta de Pedro de Bobadilla.

Buenas noches, alguien puede ayudarme con los censos?, no se donde buscarlos, he leido mucho de ellos pero no se donde localizarlos, necesito encontrar el de la Hacienda Del Carmen en Jalisco, mis ancestros por parte de mi madre trabajaron en esa hacienda por años y he llegado hasta Miguel Salvio casado con Maria Dolores, he localizado tres hijos de los cuales encontre el matrimonio de Florencia Salvia y Jose Maria Esqueda asi como uno de sus hijos Jose Leon en el municipio de Tala, el nacimiento tambien de Maria Lorensa hija de Gregorio Rangel y Maria Salvia en ese mismo municipio y a Jose Bernardo Salvio (mi ancestro) hijo de Miguel Salvio y Maria Dolores. Just got DNA results from 23&me. It shows 90% European. Primarily Spanish, French and a bit of German. Where the German came from...I don't know, yet. It shows equal shares of Northern and Southern European. Ten percent Asian, as my Mother used to say, somos de la raza de bronze y se nos sala lo Indio. As I read the book, DNA USA, the author stated, The orange segments in our DNA show Mexicans are also descended from the First People (as are Native Americans) who crossed into America from Asia. (page 242) Interesting. Although the book covers majority of European and very little on Mexico or Central/South America.

I have found many of my ancestors and have started my family tree. I cannot express my gratitude sufficently to the staff of Nuestros Ranchos for getting me started and helping me in my searches. It has taken me hours of searching through civil and church records but have been very successful in discovering my roots.

A question, should we download our records to help others in their searches?

Has anyone obtained any records from the Universidad de Guadalajara's Biblioteca Pública del Estado de Jalisco "Juan José Arreola"? The archive "Registro de Archivo" contains records for wills ("Base de datos Bienes de Difuntos"), and lawsuits and legal matters ("Ramos Civil, Criminal o Fiscal").

I would like to obtain several records but don't know where to begin and am hoping someone has done this or has actually obtained access to them? It doesn't look like the records are online. I'm wondering if they can scan these records for those of us not living in Guadalajara.

For instance if you Google "vicente covarrubias site:http://www.bpej.udg.mx/" you will come across the records for Vicente Covarrubias, one of which relates to my ancestor Catalina Venegas, http://www.bpej.udg.mx/ra_busc3?id=1075

My name is Richard Ibarra and I am researching my mother's family in Los Altos.
While I have researched my grandmother's father's family, the Angulo Hernandez lin back to Miguel de Angulo and Domingo Hernandez Gamino, I am not 100% positive on the line as I have only been able to use what i have been told by my grandparents, family search and nuestros ranchos to this point. Continuing with my grandmothers family her mother was Maria de la Luz Bravo Gonzales, daughter of Juan Bravo and Maria Refugio Gonzales. As of yet I have not been able to find anything about these two but I do know Juan was alive well into the 1980s and lived in Tepatitlan and that his mother was named Filomena Arambula.

My grandfather's family I know his grandfather was named Gil Ibarra Padilla and his fathers name was Ricardo but have been unable to find more. My grandfather's mother was Maria Maximiana Melano Gonzales and I have traced back the Melanos to a Policarpio Melano and a Maria de Jesus Rodriguez but can not find anymore. There are varying stories from my great uncles and grandfather as to how or why but they believe that the name was Medrano before it was changed to Melano. I have not researched the Gonzales family too much either but Maria Maximianas grandparents were Tomas Gonzales and Panfila Martin.

Any help for further ways to investigate would be greatly appreciate, thank you do much for this site it has helped alot and if I can help in any way please let me know. Thank you all! Gracias a todos!

Hola buenas noches, investigando a mi familia por el lado materno llegue a la familia Murguia de Lara o Murguia de Aragon, Mi ancestro era Manuel Hermenegildo Murguia y su esposa era Rita De Aragon o Rita de Lara, aparecen con varias variantes, y por esta razon no logro encontrar el matrimonio y mucho menos logro continuar con mi busqueda de mas familiares, alguien podria darme una pista de esta Familia. Sus hijos nacieron en Zapotlanejo, y crecieron el el Saucillo de los coyotes, encontre otro matrimonio Murguia de ahi, pero no logre emparentarlos. Hasta ahora cuento con esto:

How does one go about requesting records from a church in Mexico & how does one go about finding someone when some of the records are damaged?

I have searched through records (films) available from the FHC but some of these are so bad it's hard to make heads or tails of them. Even the civil registrations don't always fair well either.

I appreciate any help or suggestions.

de Jose Miguel de Soto y Maria Gregoria Sanchez donde se especifica que tienen grados de consanguinidad.

Aqui explican que de Juan Marquez(de los Olivos) y Josefa de Ruvalcaba nacieron Josefa Marquez (de los Olivos) y Marcela Marquez (de los Olivos)esto debio pasar a finales de 1600.

Esto lo traigo ya que Josefa Marquez de los Olivos (ab1700s-1749) y Florencio Sanchez Castellanos (ab1690-1750)fueron esposos y ambos murieron en Monte Escobedo, algunos de sus hijos tuvieron mucha descendencia en Jerez, Zacatecas.
