I’m trying to find out information about Nicolas Martin and Juana de
Avalos, who would’ve been born about 1680 in Jalostotlitlan or San Juan de
los Lagos. Their daughter Teresa Martin aka Gomez married Antonio Limon
daughter of Diego Limon and Marta de Ornelas in 1717:

Tomas de Villalpando and Michaela Romo de Vivar had several children, most likely born in Rincon de Romos, which included Juan Villalpando. I have not found their marriage record.
Juan Villalpando married Refugio Gonzales, and had Bacilio, among others in the early 1800s. Tomas and Michaela are named in the baptismal records.
Bacilio Villalpando married Tomasa Martinez and Maria Librada Mendosa, and had children by both wives in the 1840-60 period. Juan and Refugio are named as grandparents in the baptismal records.
My question: who were the parents of Tomas de Villalpando and Michaela Romo de Vivar?

On 16 May 1566, in Guadalajara, Alonso de Rubalcava appears as a witness in the PROCESO CONTRA JUAN DE BERMEO. His testimony is only in regards to the case, and gives no genealogical information - but it does list him as “maestro de la obra de nra sta yglesia(?), plus it gives us his approximate age (42/1524) and a signature (so we now know what he called himself: Alonso de Rubalcava or Robalcava).
Does anybody know his origins? Most have him as son of Mateo Rubalcava cc Juana Maria Gonzalez, and a grandson of conquistador Ruy Gonzalez and an Indian woman. I’ve seen books referenced, but I am leery of secondary resources, since we’ve seen some disproven with newer findings.
This new birth year raises new questions: if Alonso de Rubalcava was born ca 1524, that’s going to make it difficult for him to be grandson of a 1st conqueror. Ages given on these documents are rarely 100% accurate; I usually give them plus or minus 10 years. But even if he were born in 1534, it would be a tight squeeze. Anybody?

1. Has anyone with Ramirez surname from Nochistlan done a DNA test and found British/Irish dna?
2. Does anyone have info about parents for Antonio Ramirez (b. ~1733. d 27 Jun 1809 in Las Animas) or his wife Maria Gertrudis Rodriguez?
3. Any other thoughts based on below?
I ask this because dna test came back with some British/Irish dna. I filtered my dna matches by surname. All the common surnames for that area came back 0.0%, except for people who listed Ramirez. The Ramirez surname is only on one side of my family, which was expected based on the maternal vs paternal dna.
Based on the dna%, that they are great x5 grandparents, and how many children of theirs I descend from, I am guessing one of them is 25 or 50% British/Irish.

I am trying to find out some information on Cristobal Araiza(b. 1639) in Aguascalientes.
He is the son of Juan Araiza Medina and Maria De Isla Lossano.
In another forum on this site, Cristobal is mentioned as being married to a Bernarda De Mendoza.
There is a marriage in Aguascalientes on October 27, 1675 of a Xtoval Araiza and a Bernarda De Aldavo. I am trying to figures out if this is the same Bernarda.
Is there a connect to the Aldavo and Mendoza lines?

There is an Antonio Araiza (b.abt 1675) married to a Jesus Bentura, I believe Antonio may be a son of Cristobal. In a baptism of their son Juan, I see a Bernanda Mendoza as a godmother. This makes me think there is a connection to Cristobal Araiza.
Cristobal Araiza and Bernarda Mendoza are godparents in Etzatlan as early as 1689.
My last question, is has anyone come across information on a Pedro Araiza Medina?
He is married in Guadalajara in 1688 and I suspect there is a relation to Cristobal.

That through his ancestors he knows that Alonso Masias and Rodrigo are brothers….etc. He then states that because they are distant it wasn't known, but when Joseph Peres Masias (masias peres) brother of the pretense married Maria Masias, Hermana de esta Phelipa de Oliva con dispensa. That is when Gregorio Masias relative of hers knew that they had to be related. This caused fights amongst each other.

I ran across an extremely unusual entry for 09/1859 in the Baptisms.
The September 2nd entry is not of a baptism at all, but refers to a celestial event.
I wish I had a better knowledge of reading Spanish, but I gleaned that
in the middle of the night colorful lights appeared. Googling the date I found that a
worldwide Solar Storm of 1859 of enormous magnitude occurred. Telegraph operators of the time were experiencing shocks and other power was disrupted.
I would love for someone to read the entry --it's not very long--and please translate it for us all to enjoy. What a great slice of life at the time and history worldwide. I can only imagine the conversations the next day!

Because of Alex's help I now know have primary documentary proof of who the parents and paternal grandparents of Hernán González Corona (1577-1622) were through the Testamento (will) of Juan Fernandez Nieto found in Jorge Palomino y Canedo "Los protocolos de Rodrigo Hernández Cordero, 1585-1591 : escribano público de Guadalajara," Jal. 1972, pp. 145-147. I had seen the names mentioned, here on Nuestros Ranchos (but without citation), and on less than trustowthy sites. But now there is a primary document. As the testamento/will document shows in relation to Hernan:
Parents: Juan Fernandez Nieto (?-1590) cc. Catalina de León (?-?). Hernán's paternal grandparents were Alonso Martín (?-before 1590) cc. Isabel Álvarez (? - after 1590). Juan Fernandez Nieto, the testator, also gives us the critical information that his own father (Hernan's grandfather), Alonso Martin, was "conquistador que fue de este Reyno de la nueva Galizia."(p. 145). The will also gives the age of Hernán as 13 in 1590, which would mean he was born around 1577. That would make better sense than what I previously had which was that he was born ca. 1590. He died ca. 1622 since there is a "Bienes de Difuntos" (in PARES, Archivo General de Indias, 1 Documento(s). Folios 307-309.) list that gives the names of his wife, Ines de Tapia y Aguayo and children.
So, here is my puzzle, and I return to it after I first asked here on NR in 2014 (maybe someone has new info). I have not been able to prove definitively how I descend from Hernan Gonzalez Corona because there are at least two but probably three people of the same name and there is a lacuna of information in the mid 1600s. I have THREE Diego Gonzales (a. Diego Gonzalez Corona y Piña, b. Diego Gonzalez de la Madriz, and c. Diego Gonzalez Corona y Tapia de Aguayo. The one I can prove direct descent from is a Diego Gonzalez-Corona y Piña (or Peña). He is married to Juana de Santa Cruz. According to Agraz's "Esbozos Históricos de Tecolotlán," Diego Gonzalez Corona y Piña is married to Mariana Ruiz Galindo (p.356). This would make it easy because that would make Diegos a and b above of to be the same person given the Bienes de Difuntos info. However, there is a dispensa from the 1780s (admittedly a LONG time after) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-653X-SN?i=96&cc=1874591 which clearly shows Diego as the son of a Pedro Gonzalez, of whom I have not found any other evidence. I suppose that if they were wrong and Pedro=Hernan, then the mystery would be solved.

For the last few days the site "freezes up" on me after scanning about 30 pages.
Sometimes refreshing the page gets it back up for another 30 pages.
Usually, I've got to restart the search from initial page to continue where I left off.
Frustrating, but not sure if the problem is with the site or on my end.
I'm patient, but knowing how intense I get when researching, I hesitate to start at all.
Any computer savvy help would be greatly appreciated.

It's been a long time since I've posted. Since that time, my research has intensified and extended to actually looking up one of the few living relatives still in Mexico who took me around to the place of our ancestors, which turns out to be a "rancho" called Aguajes, Zacatecas.
There was a woman who contact me after seeing my tree - her name is Martha Vogel who is related to me via the Herrera line. It turns out that her great grandfather Tranquilino Herrera was also the great grandfather of the relative that took me around all of Zacatecas. As life has it, I have a picture of her great grandparents because he was the grandfather of my grandmother Norberta Herrera Luna. Yes, in this small rancho community, it appears everyone had inter-married, which was a common practice back then, but really hell to try to figure out as relates to geneology.

Does anyone have information about Yldelfonso Gonzalez Placensia born around 1680 in Cuquio? He is the son of Maria Ana Placensia and unknown Gonzalez. I hope someone knows the name of the husband of Maria Ana Placensia.
Yldedfonso G. P. married Josefa Rodriguez around 1700-05, possibly in Cuquio. Their son Luis received a dispensation in 1729 to marry Manuela Becerra Gutierrez. The dispensation states that Yldelfonso Gonzalez Placensia and Petrona Gutierrez "son primos segundos." Petrona Gutierrez Placensia (mother of Manuela B. G.) is the daughter of Balthazar G. & Maria Placensia.
